How does one back out from the created environment?

I have been excited to have a machine that provides for a good gaming environment. So of course, I started slamming mods left and right and for the most part, it was good. Now I would like to fallback to a vanilla environment that allows for me to better craft my ideal environment with cherry picked mods.

I am sure that it would not be the best move to get on Vortex and start uninstalling every mod that I have, not do I want a crapload of disabled mod just sitting on Vortex. What I want to do is strip back to only a couple of mods (like the unofficial update, etc) and then start to add. So is there a sane of doing this or do I just go and get creative?

Take into account, that what you want to do, REQUIRES that you start a new game.

First hit PURGE in the MODS tab in Vortex

Then, click on one of the mods in the mod list on the MOD tab, then hit CTRL + A on the MOD screen, now a menu opens up in the bottom of the window, select REMOVE, but do not select DELETE ARCHIVE if it appears, just select REMOVE MOD to uninstall ALL of them at once.

Now start over by cherry picking which mods you want to install.

Removing a host of mods midgame is probably not going to work. Use Vortex profiles. When you create a new profile it starts vanilla, no mods enabled. You can then go through your mod list and enable the ones you want to use.
