"Some mods are redundant" - after system drive recovery

So, today my system drive died.

I restored a backup to another drive and booted the system up again. Everything runs fine, except vortex. It always tells me that "some mods are redundant" when i deploy mods. If i check the Bannerlord launcher, there are no installed mods.

I reinstalled bannerlord, reinstalled vortex. Manually deleted everything i could find (including all the files in the Appdata folder.)

I cannot get this to work again.

With both things freshly installed, i add the mods, install them, activate them and get the message that the mods are redundant. Then no mods are active in the game at all.

Can someone please help me out here before i go absolutely crazy?

Edit: They also do not show up in the "load order" tab in vortex itself.

So your backup of Vortex that was initially on your system drive C:\, you restored to a different drive?

Or doi you mean you restored your backup to 'another', CQ:\ drive that's replacing your old dead C:\ drive?

Nah, i just replaced the physical drive, drive letters and data are the same. But for some reason it seems something is overwriting vortex's mods with.. nothing. If i launch the game, the mod list is empty. There should not be any difference to before, so i have no idea what to even look for.

can you purge one of the mods within vortex then reinstall it and see what happens?

Did that, several times, actually. Purged, deleted, imported, downloaded fresh from nexus. in all variations i could think of. The second i elevate vortex so it can deploy the mod, it reports it as redundant. But given that i tried uninstalling and reinstalling both vortex AND Bannerlord, i don't really know where those other, probably empty, mods are located.

Your backup of your old drive included C:\users\YOUR NAME\appdata\roaming\vortex\ ?

Yes, it was a complete backup of the entire system drive. I never had any vortex related folder on another drive (for example the staging folder) or anything else. So, to the best of my knowledge, Vortex was restored exactly as it was yesterday on the drive that pooped itself today.

Edit: This is why i am so confused. There should not be any difference as far as the system is concerned. The drive is on another physical drive, yes, but the partitions are exactly the same. Everything else works flawlessly (so far, i have not tested everything i have on the system)

Alright, i got it to work by using revo uninstaller to remove Vortex, let the tool scan and clean up any "leftovers" it found, reinstalled Bannerlord via steam (removing everything by hand(except savegames)), rebooted the system and then going back at it from 0. After that, Vortex deployed the mods as usual.

I am still very much confused as to what the hell was going on there. I have no clue how anything could have been different. Neither Vortex nor Bannerlord were running when the backup was taken.

Just wanted to post this, on the off-chance someone stumbles across this with a similar problem.

I suspect there was a deployment error you had missed (under the bell icon). If a mod fails to deploy all of it's files, Vortex may believe it's redundant.

I don't think there were anymore notifications, except the one with the redundancy. Vortex also didn't show any mod conflicts, as the error message suggested. I kinda stopped thinking about it.

Today i got my warranty replacement ssd (the one that went dead) and migrated my system back over there. This time there were no errors and everything went as it should.

Maybe something went wrong when i migrated the system the first time, but then it's really weird that ONLY Vortex seemed to be affected. And ONLY Bannerlord and it's mods were affected in Vortex itself.
