so heres the thing - a collection is a list of mods - right?

so if one item of the llist is missing why does it break everything?

no verbose yet content free answers please - just answer that question.

Not because of the way the database works. Because of the way the games work. Missing dependencies kill patches, conflict resolution and even some entire mods.

If you dislike your "favorite" mods being removed.

Â

May I suggest blame the person that is removing them?

The mod author.

To borrow a line from Paul Harvey ... "Now we know the rest of the story".

Whether or not my private mods have any import to anyone else has no significance for me.

All that matters to me is whether or not I'm following a course of action that aligns with my own standards and beliefs.

My standards and beliefs do not align with yours in the slightest way.

Okay?

What would you like me to reply to that with?

So only the way you think and believe is proper?

a load of ungrateful, entitled gibberish.

you are the demographic nexusmods are aiming at.

you deserve each other.

indeed it does need to work for ALL of them - it is you, that harps back to skrim in every single post.

the game is irrelevant to my question though. if a list is missing a piece - it should make no difference because as we have been told "its just a list".

however, that is simply not the case, and i'd like to know why.

the answer score to that very simple question remains 0.

Unfortunately, blaming people solves nothing. i'd just like it fixed. Having Nexus and mod authors agree on a solution that works for all would be the best of course.

There is nothing broken just the usual suspects flinging insults and the title "entitlement" around.

The modders here that do not like the change are just community members like you and me.

They do not own the website or company.

This isn't new really didn't this happen year ago? Than again 3 years ago?

The reason most are upset is cause this puts a end to "entitlement"

The change is a needed change it was not done to "spite" the modders it was done so the system can work properly

It allows proper version control of the mods.

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/jei/files

The modder Mezz is likely more known for being one of the main developers of little known application called Discord as he shows on his github page.

Where funny enough I noticed some modders now moving their mods to discord.

It is only way for mod collections to work properly.

The alternative for the modders is just don't host their files here they can always go to steam.

Good

Enjoy your life!

Hope you can find activity or hobby that you enjoy doing since it isn't making modifications to commercial games free for others.

You should not speak about things that you obviously can't understand. I still enjoy modding. I will continue to realize my ideas as I always did. I shared my mods free of charge with you - the users - because i wanted to but not because i created them for you. Which is a small, but significant difference.

Who is a user and who is developer?

What odd mentality to have

us vs them?
