Jinn-Roh
Ok. this is only a question. Is i piracy to rip morrowind just so someone can install the game? I mean, if they bought tribunal or bloodmoon or whatever, is it bad to burn a copy of morrowind and give it to them so they can install it to play one of the expansions? Jinn-Roh
Thank you. it was just a question though. that guy that ripped morrowind and was asking about how to get the CS got me thinking about that. i dont have a burner anyway. So our beloved Morrowind is safe with me.
Baphomet
In short, yes, it's piracy. And piracy is bad. We all know that.My question though, is why did he buy an expansion if he didn't have TES to begin with??
boohoomoo
I had a terrible time finding original Morrowind, and ended up ordering it on-line. All the local stores had Tribunal and some had Bloodmoon, but Morrowind was always on backorder and never seemed to get in stock.
Pob
Yes it is. Simply put if you didn't pay for it and you own a copy its piracy. Not piracy to borrow you mates to play test though pir•acy /parsi/ noun 1 the crime of attacking ships at sea in order to steal from them2 the act of making illegal copies of video tapes, computer programs, books, etc., in order to sell them: software piracy—see also pirate As defined by the oxford dictionary
Jinn-Roh
*cough* he doesnt have the expansion. And it really is hard to find the original morrowind. I looked for it for a couple of months and couldnt find it. Only place that had it was best buy and they only had one copy left, so i snatched that one up. The only reason i asked is because the guy wanted the game but didnt want to buy the original game because of how hard it was to find. He's planning on buying one of the expansions and wanted me to burn a copy of morrowind so he could install it on his comp and have a copy incase his computer ever crashed. Im not gonna burn it for him, but ill install it on his comp.
Dark0ne
In short, yes it is. Its actually possible to make images of CD's and make "Ghost Drives" which act like CD Drives that can play the images. I won't give the name of the software, but its extremely useful (and good for any lazy person) because I just make an image of all my games, then I dont have to bother searching for the CD to play the game any more, I just have to apply the image to my ghost drive. It's called file SHARING. Stressing the word SHARING. You enjoy the game, why make a friend pay for enjoying it as well? Is lending a car to a friend a crime? Is lending a friend a cup of sugar a crime? Of course not. So allowing them to enjoy a game shouldn't be a crime either. Come now, you can't tell me that you don't burn music cd's, or listen to music on your computer! We prefer to call it sharing. SHARING
Dark0ne
The fact its illegal "sharing" means nothing to you?You see, when you share a car, you aren't sharing it like you are software - you're giving them the car until you want it back - its not like that with software at all.
