NickJones
My own category - SKOB.It means "Some Kind Of Buddhist". I'm not really a practioner, but after survey of the world religions, it's the most in tune with my own feelings and beliefs.Back in the summer of 1996 I felt the need of some kind of spiritual base, and I picked up a good book that surveyed Buddhism around the world. It opened my eyes to a lot of things I didn't know, and cleared up more than a few misconceptions. And while Buddhism did have some bloody inter-sect violence early in its history, metaphorically speaking, ALL the other world religions wear robes stained with innocent blood up to their collarbones, while Buddhism's stain reaches only a little above the ankles. Peregrine
Slightly less religious than the average rock. I see absolutely no reason to believe that any form of god exists.
Dark0ne
Correct me if I'm wrong (even though I'm right), but isn't a protestant also a christian? LoL. Nasty nasty dig there ;) As for my religion; I called myself a Christian up to the age of 16 when I began questioning the blind belief I had in god. I found I was answering the questions I had with "I don't need to answer that because I believe, I have faith" et cetera. Religion need not have all the answers, but it does need to answer some more important questions - and provide the "user" with an actual basis that doesn't contradict itself around every corner and leave itself wide open to hundreds of different interpretations (a.k.a. The Bible). I find it highly illogical to believe in a God who cannot answer for himself in this world other than through "believers" (how convenient) - a God without a voice is a God without a presence.Faith, IMHO, is only a form of brain-wash, a backing for all christians in hard times. Now, having said that, Christianity teaches many things I believe help society and also form an excellent basis for life. One does not need to believe in god to think the ideals passed via The Bible are worthwhile. My current religious standing: Agnostic.
HeLLL
Me well to be completly different I am a Taoist. My signature is from the Tao Te Chung a book writtin by the great sage. Taoism is the 2nd oldest religion and has been an extremeley important part of Chinese history <though it wasn't classed as a religion in China untill Westerners settled. Chinese don't have a word for religion nearly everyone practised either Taoism, Buddishm or Confucusism>. I to was a christian untill the pastor at my church told me <when I was 9> that the reason my Dad was sick was because he sinned and he was going to die and go to hell. Hence my nickname HeLLL or Helllight. I "light the way to hell" for those lost souls.

HeLLL
Yeah he did. Strange all of a sudden I thought to myself "Screw this Im sitting at home to watch cartoons on a sunday now" :D Hey Reaper my friend humanaethema wrote this post over in a forum called Project Mayhem take a read. Consider phenomena: The principle of sufficient reason states that a phenomenon must be caused. Either a phenomenon is self-caused, in that it is sufficient reason for its own existence, or it is other caused, in that a phenomenon ( B ) is caused byt another phenomenon (A). There are three classes of phenomena; A non composite entity is not composed of components, but it can be a component of another phenomenon. A composite entity has components, and can be a component. A composite non-entity has components, but can never be a component. Our universe is a component system, fitting into the third class. That is, all things within it except some elementary quantum particles are composite, and it includes everything, so can never be a component of another system or entity. The principle of limitation states that for a composite phenomenon to exist, all of its components must predate it or exist simultaneously with it. This means also that a composite phenomenon cannot be the cause of any of its components, and as such cannot be self caused. Our universe, as a composite system, cannot be self caused, and must be other caused. Since the universe includes everything, its cause must be a component of the universe. This means that since the cause of a system is also the cause of every component within that system, the cause of the universe is self-caused. If it is self caused, it must be non-composite. Also, since a single entity caused the entire universe to exist, consider the existence of another self caused entity. As this entity would need to be a component of the universe, it would be caused by the first self caused entity, and be both self caused and other caused, which is impossible. So the cause of the universe is unique. So there is a unique, self-caused, non-composite cause to our universe. By definition, God. After answering the question of God's existence, there is the question of God's nature. What is God like? The principle of refinement states that a cause must be at least as refined as its effect. The most refined entities in our universe, that we know of, are humans. Humans posess conciousness, intelligence, love and will. Although individual humans posess these traits to specific and limited amounts, there is no limit to the variation amongst humans in the magnitude of these traits. That is, no matter how smart you are, there can always be someone smarter. So since the potential of humanity is limitless, God as a single entity must posess infinite conciousness, infinite intelligence, infinite love, and infinte will. Thus, the universe was caused to exist by a self-caused, non-composite, unique, omniscient, omnipotent and un-conditionally all-loving God.
