IHLAL42
Are they basically same thing to regular save?To me saving is just turning instantiated values in memory to a file.I can not see anything to go wrong in this process.Even in the middle of script execution VM just remember where it stopped and start again. And this is quite common because many scripts are too long to execute completely in a single time quantum. HeyYou
Autosaves and quicksaves have a bad reputation. Earlier games were notorious for corrupting them, and hosing your game. Beth *seems* to have fixed that.... I occasionally use autosaves in Skyrim, and FO4, and I haven't had a problem..... Yet.....
tm10067
I heard that rumor but never had any issues with them though.
HeyYou
I heard that rumor but never had any issues with them though.I had issues with them in Morrowind, but, after that, I simply stopped using them... However, of late, in Skyrim, and FO4, I do tend to use them, but, only when necessary. (like, when I get killed, and it's been a while since my last hard save. :D)
showler
I've heard that vanilla quicksaves and autosaves don't have the function that lets scripts run to completion before saving. This can cause save bloat. Mods like SSE Engine Fixes make autosaves behave like regular saves.
Blinxys
Heck, I save before I exit, and even delete exit saves before venturing out again. :devil:Nothing a quicksave can do that a quick P-Enter-Enter can't do, and well worth the certainty IMHO. :geek:
LarannKiar
As far as I can remember, I had one corrupted Autosave and two Quicksaves. They caused CTD upon loading. And I use Quicksaves frequently.. By the way, the author of FallrimTools (save game editor) answered some questions about quicksaves and autosaves in comments.
