rebelatnight
I recently started a new game of Morrowind after ages of not playing it, and found that my interface was now messed up by... something?! I don't know if it's because of a mod or OpenMW or what, but now all the text has these random "s" all over the place and i makes it very hard to read and enjoy the game when I have to stop and look at something for 10 seconds to read it properly in the middle of a gaming session. Like I said, I recently came back to Morrowind already installed on my system after a year or so, and besides more mods, the only other thing that\ comes to mind is that I upgraded OpenMW from. 0.46 to 0.47. I'm going to attach a list of my installed mods soon, but wanted to ask around in case someone knew what this was about. Thanks!
Oblivionaddicted
Except if I'm wrong you have this problem because you didn't correctly install MWSE.
rebelatnight
I've never fully installed MWSE, I understand it to be incompatible with the current stable builds of OpenMW. I went through and checked my mods folder and removed all accidental MWSE folders I found, but nothing's changed in game. I'm now going back and checking to make sure all of my mods aren't based on MWSE, haven't found anything yet. A few of them are for MWSE OR OpenMW, but I can't imagine that would cause a problem if I was using the correct OpenMW version.
Dragon32
It's been a while since I played but isn't that an indicator of running a mod with GMST contamination? https://modding-openmw.com/tips/cleaning-with-tes3cmd/

Nope, still have the same issue, but it was worth a shot!
Oblivionaddicted
At worst check your mods that only require Morrowind.esm with a mod cleaner like Morrowind enchanted editor and you will find. Nope, still have the same issue, but it was worth a shot!GMST Fix.esp is to be loaded in the construction set when you edit the mod to AVOID generating the dirty GMSTs on save, it can't clean your dirtied mod after the fact. You need TESTool or tes3cmd clean for that (or other editors like enchnated editor/tesame... if you don't want to clean in automatic way)
