grizzybeer
I'm lost and confuse at this point probably because I'm new to modding and pc gaming. After playing Fallout NV with vortex on my lap top, I decide to switch PC gaming instead of console. I have bought a gaming computer. It has windows 10. I have: 1. Uninstalled & Reinstalled Skyrim AE.2. Uninstalled & Reinstalled Vortex Manager (1.5.5)3. I booted up the game4. When I try to find the game through the directory, all I have is folders with nothing in them. Details 1. I bought the Steam version Skyrim AE and Fallout GOTY 2. Before buying this steam version, I was playing Skyrim SE using MS Pass. I have uninstalled Skyrim from MS Pass.3. When I first bought the Steam version of Skyrim AE and Fallout GOTY and couldn't get it to manage, I tried Mod Manager 2. It was to complicate for me so I gave up, and decided to try Vortex again because I was successful with Vortex and Fallot NV. 4. I did get Mod Manager to work but gave up on it because LOOT would not load. 5. I deleted everything I did with Mod Manager and uninstalled and reinstalled Skyrim AE. What I found weird is. When I scan in Vortex for managing a game, it said if found 4 games installed however.... 3 games only show up (Fallout 4, Morrowind, Oblivion) but can't seem to find the 4th game. I clicked unhide games. The 3 games that show up, I thought I uninstalled so I don't know why it is showing up. I hope someone can guide in the right direction. showler
Did you make sure to run the game's first before trying to manage them?
Pickysaurus
Just to dispel the usual misnomer, Skyrim "Anniversary Edition" is not a game. You're looking for Skyrim Special Edition.
yeshualives
The problem is that vortex will not run any AE mods on what it considers an SE game... I've literally deleted and restarted 4 times. I can't get skyui5 to work, I can't get widescreen to work and I'm going nuts...

Skyrim Special Edition's 1.6 update only impacts a handful of mods: https://modding.wiki/en/skyrim/users/skse-plugins It's likely there's some kind of use error happening here rather than an issue with Vortex, but you've not provided enough info for anyone to help you. Bunkaido
I'm seeing the same behavior. I play through Steam. I have Skyrim SE and just purchased the AE upgrade during the winter sale (for $10, w00t!) and when I launch the game from Steam, it loads the AE DLC content as it should. I see the golden dragonborn emblem and I don't see the "Anniversary Edition Upgrade" notification. However, when I launch via the SKSE64 shortcut from within Vortex, it only loads the SE without the AE content; I see the silver dragonborn emblem and it shows me the AE upgrade available notification. I've looked at the game path that Vortex is managing and launched the game directly from that EXE... it does not include the AE content. The only other EXE file in that game folder is the skse64_loader.exe and using that to launch the game also only loads the SE content. So... the question is... Can the game be launched in any way, outside of Steam, and still load the AE content?
