DarthNyriss
I've seen several threads about deploy order which seem to change to 'load order'. So, in an attempt to find an answer, I'll spell out the question. Call it OCD if you like or just being too orderly for my own good, but what I want to do is group all my mods into sections...let's say all the textures, such that they are in consecutive order. At present, the deploy order has them all over the place. In MO2, I could just move them up or down the list, but it seems in Vortex I can't, or just haven't found a way. So...forgetting about load orders, LOOT and all of that, is there a way to order my mods so that I can change the order in which they're deployed following the MO2 model?
rmm200
You mention textures.Deploy order for loose files like textures that do not conflict is irrelevant, and has absolutely no effect on the game.
Pickysaurus
There is no need to have mods in a particular order. You can use names or categories to sort/group the table but the deploy order is only relevant when the mods have files that conflict with one another. Here's an example I have in my own Vortex build using custom categories.
CliffSedge
So far, no one has answered the question . . . Regardless of how things get sorted, how load order is determined, or even if any of it matters -- How/Why does Vortex determine Deploy Order and can this order be changed? showler
Deploy order only matters if more than one mod changes the same file. If that happens, Vortex will ask you which version of the file you want to use. "Deploy order" is a bit irrelevant here because the files that are used are pre-determined by that conflict resolution process so by the time Vortex actually deploys the files there will only ever be one version of any given file being deployed. As for changing it, the only thing that can be changed is the selection of the file you want to use, and that can be altered at any time.
