As you can see in the picture, I've tried to open the pipboy and this happens. The actor hands rise up as if holding a weapon and it just stays like that. I've looked through my mods list (a list I have altered very little since NMM). I can cycle through the pipboy tabs but they don't show up, I can't move, i can't exit out: all I can do is reload.
It also happens in power armor (ill post another picture) and NOW, after I thought I'd finally fixed it, the game crashes on save AND fast travel and it doesn't matter where I'm trying to go.
I'm really angry about this...was having a lot of fun and thought I finally got a great game going and now boom. This garbage.
And before anyone asks: I've tried disabling ANY mod that i could find that might affect the pipboy. I have no replacers or added animations, no community weapons...there is a Creation Club paint job on the armor and the weapon I had equipped is the rifle from vault 81. OH, and it doesn't matter which weapon I have equipped. If it's a melee weapon, it goes to rifle hands.
Please. There has to be SOMEONE out there whose seen this or dealt with it. I've truly looked everywhere but I don't even understand how to describe what I'm looking at.

Looks kind of like what happens if you install a handheld pipboy replacer and then remove it without resetting the animations.

 

Our new theory is that there might be something wrong with the HQ radio from Sim Settlements because I have no replacers or anything like that.

Have had a similar thing happen, (exact cause unknown). try switching Point of View (POV) from 1st to 3rd person or vice versa (pressing middle-mouse button, or quick "v" key- holding it down will open workbench in settlement by default). Anyway, switching viewpoint seemed to un-glitch it in my case when it seemingly randomly occurs- for the time being. No obvious correlation between x=why, yet. But with this workaround it is generally only a minor inconvenience. :dry:
