krb243
I'd like to keep my current install of Skyrim AE on Vortex and add the GOG version on Vortex. Is there an extension just for the GOG version; if there is, I can't find it. If not, how can I have Vortex manage both installs at the same time. I hope I'm not being too confusing. I'm currently using the old NMM to manage the GOG version, but I'd rather have Vortex. Thanks!
showler
GOG support is native in Vortex. There's a thread offering some possible solutions attached to the announcement of the GOG Skyrim version.
krb243
yeah, I can manipulate Vortex to support GOG, but then I have to revert the settings to support the steam version. I need an extension specific for the GOG version to just switch games as normal. I'm attempting to create an extension for this, but I'm not a programmer, so it's slow going. I've been waiting for the NEXUS team to provide one, but I've become impatient. Hopefully one is forthcoming.
Pickysaurus
Vortex is not designed to manage multiple instances of the same game. Without significant changes it won't be possible. As discussed in the other topic Showler mentioned, an extension for the GOG version can be created but it will not have saved games, load order or INI support due to those features being hard-coded to only the exact IDs of the Bethesda games. showler
The suggestion about a second account on Windows seemed workable to me. Is there a problem with that?
