scan is missing

i have 30 games on steam alone. vortex is installed. but there is no scan button? idk what to do. i dont really want to manually do all my games

Whatever game you plan to mod today, type the name in the search bar at the top of the games listing, then select "manage".

 

Next time you want to start modding a game, do the same with that game.

 

There's really no reason why you should have all of them done at once.

i can do that but id like to have it scan so i dont have to manually select the folder

It will scan for that specific game when you select that specific game to manage. You should only need to manually select the folder if the scan doesn't work.

If you have to manually select the folder, it means Vortex couldn't find the game on Steam, GOG, Xbox, UPlay or Origin on your PC. Each game extension has to include the relevant metadata to detect the game on those platforms. If the metadata isn't known, then it means you'll have to pick it manually.

 

If it's not working either there's something weird with your game store data or you may not have a recognised copy of the game.

So what can I do? Everything is downloaded from Steam itself. I had it working on my old pc but that was a year ago.

Have you tried clicking the game from the games tab? That's all you should need to do.
