what kind of government is better?

But, you are simply transferring power to someone one/two steps removed from the elected official responsible, and I think that you are overestimating the amount of experience that staffers enter with, and/or can develop inside one or two terms.

I have the same problem when term limits are discussed, when the bureaucrats in the various agencies are not likewise term-limited. Power is simply transferred in a less transparent fashion.

If you don't have staffers getting replaced with every new politician then you maintain the experience.

Elect politicians to represent the will of the people.

Hire staffers to work on behalf of that politician.

Get rid of the whole "replace the entire staff every time a new person gets elected" bull. Make staff positions non-political and fire anyone who tries to impose their politics in place of the elected persons.

The problem is making politics a primary part of every part of government. Separate the politicians from the people who actually run things.

But then, the REAL power brokers are the ones who determine how things get done - they also do neat stuff like leak information like a screen wire bowl. Even with the replaced staff, there can be that problem. The elected officials won't want to change this, b/c the way things are, they have some sense/expectation of loyalty.

Lastly, we are supposed to have a government of the people, not of staffers and agency personnel. I think more transparency and more input from the elected officials is needed, not less.

Check out the kind of governing system that the movie that just came out called Saturday Night shows us is in charge.

Keep in mind that Milton Berle a.k.a. Uncle Miltie Tuesday Night .  He was just like the Saturday Night bunch are now, has some of the funniest TV reruns Online.  Well maybe he's not as funny to the youth of today, but he is one of the people that was always on LIVE TV, never taped shows.  LIVE TV and they bring an actor in just to show what a great guy Uncle Miltie was.

Centralized power is not a good thing for communities that want to simply live their lives in peace. The main reason is power corrupts and no one is immune. Things might work for a while. But greed always ruins it.

We can no longer sustain large centralized govts whom's only reason for existence is to tax most of the community they govern into poverty and continually start wars of expansion so the elite 1% can attain even more wealth and power.

Serfdom to kings really never ended. They just rebranded it to fool us and took over territories on a scale we barely comprehend.

Never have so few controlled the fate of so many.
