"When people speak of Vaultfolk101DC, they assume they do so of all of those living through out the techvault be it the MainVaultDC101, including all 10 of its subvaults, the OverVault101DC above, the SideVault101DC surrounding it, the UnderVault101DC beneath, the 10 semivaults closer to the mainvault, the 10 demivaults further out from it and the Caves101DC."

Jasmine sighed as she held a Rainbowbaby in her arms, the rainbow patterns swirling over its softly glowing body; it was but an aspect of the greater Rainbowbaby. She continued to talk. "This is a mistake for we have learned that the term only refers to all who dwell outside of MainVault101DC and the four vault areas that are tight against that structure; the last four make up Rimzone101DC. There are actually 20 semivaults and 20 demivaults plus one false mainvault. It was assumed that Compnet101DC ran through the whole of TechVault101DC but it only goes through what we now know is Outzone101DC. This is true for most network-systems with the exception of a few, very well secured-concealed, ones."

It was now called the Chosenzone and Chosen Ones had come to be there as 13s while there avatars still operated outside of that zone. Other Chosen Ones were yet to arrive. The LyonsPriders were there along with the Reregulators, the biodroids, the Wallguards, the newly named PestRegulators101DC, and the special animals.

Jasmine's words spoke of a shocking truth now striking vaultfolk through out Outzone101DC who now knew that they had been quietly deceived for over 200 years. There were many questions to be answered? One answer was that resources that had seemingly come from MainVault101DC had in truth come from the fake version of the same that was more basic, and smaller, than the real one though still of great value; it had only a simple rimzone and six subvaults.

With the false mainvault taking up most of the area, that the real one should have done, where was the true structure?

The LittleFateOne Bagsie spoke. "The true MainVault101DC is both here and not here but removed just one phase shift from standard existence. The true experiment is partly the isolation, and entrapment, caused by this state of affairs but there are also experimental facets of challenges, threats, mutation and maybe more. There are people there but are they the vaultfolk that they started out as? The Experiments101DC are directly linked to the creation of this gameworld and the workings of the silly Gamergods."

The silly Gamergods?

There were growing troubles with the Grand Program of Projects?

The one prototype game area was expanded out to a whole gameworld and new gameworlds were emerging; that and other events seemed to be happening outside of the control of the Gamergods.

The Chosen Ones had been sent to discover the truth behind troubles with the Grand Program of Projects but what was their status, their purpose, now?

The carefully built up, amphibious and aquatic, invasion fleet sped through the darkness towards Rivetcity. Human mercenaries, battle androids, combat synthdroids, other types of battle synths, genetically engineered creatures and former RepublicDC military personnel were on their way to conquer the largest settlement of DC. Rivetcity of course was guarded, had its Militiaguard, even had a small fleet of armoured-armed motorboats, but was nowhere near ready to deal with this attack.

A sweep of energy flashes ran through the invaders being of varied colourations; lifeforms vanished away including such as potplants and insects; that was the celestial side of what happened.

A series of explosions destroyed all of the vessels at the forefront of the fleet. Two submarines exploded partly up and out of the water.

Realising that the invasion was doomed, the largest number of survivors turned, as fast as they could, and fled. The general character of the attackers was shown as only a few vessels staid to try to rescue any survivors.

A great flash made the sinking, sunken, rescuing vessels all vanish away along the all that was aboard them.

The monstrous submarine, under the command of the LittleFateMan, had struck in a most carefully planned, and constrained, manner. There was always a limit to what the LittleFateFamily could do, especially in a mortal realm, and that is exactly what the LittleFateMan had done while being supported by higher celestial authority.

With the Rainbowbabies came other Rainbowfolk but also fewer yellow-white glowing Celestifolk including Celestibabies. Even so, altogether, they only numbered just over three hundred though this included Rainbowbots of robots, Rainbowdroids, of androids, and Rainbowlife including Rainbowmans. There were very few Rainbowlords and even fewer Celestilords with their supporting Celestimans along with a few other types of Celestilife. The CeRaFollowerhood was slowly-steadily expanding and becoming more diverse but so far there were far more kinds of Rainbow types than there were Celesti ones.

The Jsisters, the originals, found themselves tending to the Rainbowbabies at first and, only in time, also the Celestibabies. This did not stop them from carrying out other, important, duties in that special area. There were a growing number of Chosen One originals there.

Jessica walked amongst a slowly-steadily expanding refugee camp of Celestirainbow provided equipment-supplies along with what else was donated. Small, medium and big dometents were common with their bioplastic including floors, transparent windows, airlock like double doors and other useful features. There were basic, safe, reliable crafted bits of outdoor furniture and utilities including some workshops, storehuts and fencing around foodgardens and poultry.

Jessica had her allotted Rainbowbaby in a special pouch at her front, who was asleep as she often was, whom she kissed on the top of the small one's head. When she did a tingle of energies ran through her body as a brief moment of rejuvenation.

She noted radhumans, less human like radmans, radghouls except for savage radghoulers though some there were former ones, a few vaultfolk, animafolk, friendly androids, smarter robots and even a couple of brainbots with their fake, holographic, brains showing on top in domes. Nearly all were busy while the others were resting, or recharging, eating or meeting other needs.

Children were on their way to intercept Jessica knowing that the Rainbowbaby would wake up, happily, to meet them, to chortle as they entertained her and would give them small gifts of snacks, drinks, toys and useful devices. Of the gifts, many would go to help the families or carers of orphan children.

Jessica was happy to see a bicycle be ridden past of a basic, safe and durable design that a courier was using to deliver mail of letters and small parcels. Pedalcraft were also appearing, in increasing numbers, in TechVault101DC.

"The WastelandsDC, for the great majority of WastelandersDC, has not changed for centuries since Doomsday except in a gradual manner of moderate improvement." Owen Lyons spoke to the round table meeting of SteelElders but also fewer TechElders and FaithElders. "Thus DC is not really different from most Wastelands Zones in North America or even beyond, as far as we know. Yet there are both positive, and negative, exceptions; of the first there is such as NeoTokyo, BritMega, OzGaia, New Atlantis and Paradiso. Of the latter there are such as the major WorldEnclavens including the ruling EarthEnclaven, Culttak Empire, Caesar's Dynastic Empire and Funtopia of a floating, artificial, island."

The PrimeElder shook his head just a little. "Even as we, the newly renamed TriOrderhood, begin our campaign to improve matters, for most peoples, in DC, forces are being unleashed that could threaten our plans. While their invasion has been slowed, the EagleEnclavers are still moving southwards as a massive army-airforce with other elements; that is a two pronged attack with a large inland force being supported by a coast hugging oceanic one."

He nodded again. "From the Atlantic Ocean are raiding increasing numbers of deadly reaverpacks which are whispered to come from a truly demented domain."

So the powerful leader went on speaking as he spoke of forces threatening DC but failed to mention at least one simply because he was not aware of it at the time. Nor did he openly consider threats that were intrinsic to DC itself, especially Greater DC of the late 21st Century expansion of DC.

Girdershade was a small, bustling, fortified settlement with over 200 inhabitants being a mixture of radhumans, radmans, radghoulmans and radghoulins. The Wanderer came with a packmule with his own stuff but also a few tradegoods to barter, or bribe, with.

The Girdershade NukaCola Museum was a favoured draw card for visitors to the settlement, happy to donate recognised currencies, or bottles of NukaCola varieties, to gain entrance. The Wanderer smiled richly at Sierra Petrovita, who happily took the two bottles of NukaCola Quantum as an entrance fee but for that she insisted in throwing in a cold NukaCola Original.

There were NukaCola Tshirts, tea towels, towels, 2D posters, toy trucks, jigsaw puzzles, and more in one big display wall. The Wanderer listened as Sierra went on about how wonderful it all was.

When given a chance to do so, he spoke. "Do you have a bottle of NukaCola Vortex?"

She frowned and indicated a mannequin wearing a Nukagirl outfit that was fairly skimpy. Tucked away, between its legs but on its base, was the bottle. "I could not find any records on it so I just put it there because I am not sure if it is anything but a joke."

The Wanderer sighed, as if thinking about what could have happened if somebody had kicked it over, accidentally or otherwise. "Four NukaCola Originals, two NukaCola Original Diets and one NukaCola Quantum, would that be enough? Oh, yes, a particular NukaCola Tshirt that you do not have in your collection. They are with my packmule that is just outside."

The mature, attractive, woman smiled richly at him. "Consider the deal done!"

It was with relief that the Wanderer put the softly glowing, lightly bubbling, NukaCola Vortex into very safe-secure storage. He did not inform the eccentric collector that if it had been upset, too much, the bottle could have exploded with such power as to destroy the town and all in it. He would take it to a place where it would be carefully examined so as to discover where it, and others like it, had originated and why they had been created.

After that he hired the use of a small hut that he shared with the packmule; oddly enough people saw them enter that building but not leave, it or Girdershade, but none seemed concerned about it.

The 1234I Envoy, aboard the luxury ocean liner, the USCS Comfort had come to Rivetcity seeking renegade androids escaped from the New Britain Commonwealth and, more importantly, from the dreaded Institution. He had other reasons to be there, along with a handful of associates, assistants and bodyguards. Father was increasingly unhappy with the number of runaway androids but was also keen to pick up on any technological advancements made in DC.

He spoke to Doctor Zimmer, Director of the Android Retention Bureau, a short man in a faded business suit and thick glasses. "The invading force was largely made up of combat androids of the kind created by the 1234I in the decade before Doomsday, that is before it even had that name."

The name was both informative and misleading just as it was intended to be. The mono meant the Head Division of command-control, security, special research and so forth. The Duo was a division serving the Head Division and another doing the same for the three below. The three were the main research development divisions. Then there were four divisions of logistics, paramilitary operations, training and miscellaneous duties. Those were all of the divisions of the 1234I or so went the official description.

The Envoy knew better while Doctor Zimmer was less important than he arrogantly assumed that he was. Father found such individuals to be very useful to manipulate as what he called his ego puppets. Yet Doctor Zimmer remained useful and so he staid alive.

The luxury liner, once driven across the ocean by its old fashioned diesel engines, was adapted by the Rivetcityfolk into what was largely a residential area with service support facilities, security and even a small, floating, dock serving its lifeboats. The lifeboats fished the river waters but only quite close to Rivetcity.

Doctor Zimmer frowned. "Old fashioned androids should not be of any concern."

The Envoy suppressed an urge to hit the fool. "Not 'old fashioned' but highly refined war machines as invented by members of the Predoomsday 13G13. Father wants to know where those androids came from, if there are any more of them out there and, if so, just how many. They were designed by SageProfessor Positronius or so was his rather pretentious code name."

Doctor Zimmer's expression changed for though he was a brilliant genius he knew, that compared to the sageprofessor, he was somewhat of a village idiot. "I suggest that we change the parameters of our search for androids so that it is not just focused on escapees."

The Envoy was going over the report, in his inhuman mind, of the amazing incident of the invading force's destruction, focusing on how it had been attacked by a hidden, hitech, threat and then there had been the strange flash of energies. "Excellent idea, doctor, I suggest that you go and see to the changes at once."

Realising that he had been arbitrarily dismissed, the doctor scowled and departed with his female android personal assistant and male android bodyguard. The Envoy had no need for either and stood there alone in his black coat, white button shirt, black trousers and dark brown boots with a business hat perched almost jauntily on his blonde haired head.

Father wasn't happy to learn that his superclone brother was linked to the combat androids any more than he was about the synths serving the destroyed aquatic attack force. Then there were the genetically engineered battle creatures that were too close to 1234I experimental program results to give much comfort.

Was there a traitor in the 1234I busily betraying both Father and the Cause?

A massive, mutant, fish was glimpsed in the waters but was gone as quickly as it had appeared. Luckily, for the fishing lifeboats, it went nowhere near them.

LittleFateObserver always observed what was taking place but mostly, indirectly, through the LittleFateWatchers!

The sadistic, twisted, Professor Stanislaus Braun rejoiced as a group of Tranquility Lane inhabitants writhed in agony on the neat lawn of the Central Gardens. The adults, and children, had been induced, tricked, into drinking his lemonade that turned out to be a bit more 'acidic' than any normal such drink could have been. Braun giggled sharply as Betty, a little girl complete with pigtails and a flower patterned dress, and kicked Mabel Henderson in the guts; the mature housewife let out a deeper cry of pain.

Braun was sadistic, did get bored, but the real reason he tortured the inhabitants, of the TecVault112DC Virtual Reality Realms Program, was his own deep fear at what he had discovered many years before. By having control over others he tried to control the situation he was in, tried to assure himself that he was safe from the 'others'.

Even as his victims shimmered, and vanished away, New Soviet Special Forces soldiers abseiled down from bulky, hovering, helicopters and Braun, not Betty, was their target. They began to torture him, not bothering to ask any questions of him as they seemed only intent on causing pain but no damage. They were far more expert, and subtle, in such arts than he had ever been.

When Braun died he was replaced by a new Braun who was somehow more powerful in his presence, more imposing and far colder as in more aloof. The new Braun had no intention of wasting the usefulness of the encapsulated TechVault112DC as the real Braun had done as he had failed to take real advantage of the special resources of the techvault.

The soldiers changed into multiple Brauns that vanished off to go to other virtual real realms such as a tropical island paradise, a ski resort in winter, a NukaCola based theme park, a wild west town and a royal French mansion estate. Yet there was more to the Program than what Braun had known as it had been changed by others, expanded, deepened, and...

LittleFateObserver always observes what is taking place but mostly, indirectly, through the LittleFateWatchers!

A big shake up began with the SUDC, the Settlers Union of DC, because of the failed attack on Rivetcity. Clearly the largest SUDC Settlement, of great importance to the union, had been far too vulnerable for the good of the rather loosely organised SUDC. A treaty was formed with the newly named TriOrderhood.

In theory Quadtowertown was the capital, of the SUDC, but had become increasingly alienated from that role mostly thanks to the actions of the Quadtowertown based SUDC High Council and its council network; that is its plunge towards autocracy, corruption and craziness. The new SUDC Peoples Council authorised the treaty on behalf of the SUDC.

Uncle Leo, a hulking supermutant with high intelligence, much wisdom, and exotic powers moved through WashingtonDC gathering up a surprisingly wide range of followers. He seemed to be able to make at least a few of them vanish away to what he described as a very special sanctuary. Word went out that he transformed radghouls but only in small numbers and that the effort was not always successful.

Though no more parachute-cubeboxes fell, from the sky, parachute-crates had kept doing so in fluctuating numbers, and sizes, being mostly in the few numbers and smaller crates. The range, of useful items, was expanding and was now including curious melee weapons of softly glowing blades, spikes and so forth along with different types of armour.

WastelandersDC found that they could visit the Skyfaller Outposts, Towns and Cities to buy goods and services, often paying for them with items taken from the wastelands that appeared to be generously paid for in Skyfaller Tradecredit. In turn the locals often used gained goods as valuable trade items. Yet the new settlements still remained quite scattered, in most areas, and never overly frequent in any. Locals often sold information to the Skyfaller petty officials including that which the locals could find little value in.

Generally speaking the Giftcrates had more impact on people's lives than did Skyfaller influence.
