Vortex "installing game" forever

Does anybody know how to fix this? I try to manage a game, it says it needs to download an extension, then it just says "installing game" and nothing happens.

what game? what extension?

I tried two games. Control & Cyberpunk 2077. Both games had the same result. It just hangs forever.

Are the extensions for those games installed and working?

So the games are installed & i have run them before. The problem seems to be the extensions themselves. When trying to "manage" a game it says it "support for this game provided through an extension... To use it you have to download the extension then restart Vortex." & it gives the option to download. Then i click download & it just gets hung up on "installing game, vortex will restart upon completion". I have used Vortex before without issue. However this is the first time im running it on this windows install or in other words, it was never working properly since i've installed.

Alright guys thanks for your help, but problem solved. I guess im just an idiot. Although it wasn't made clear when you first open the tool, you must link Vortex with Nexusmods account.

Thanks for providing the details on how you fixed this. I think something in 1.8 has made this issue more prevalent.

I used the instructions and logged into my account first but the problem is still occurring. Anyone else?

close vortex, dont click on cancel meanwhile, open vortex again. Sould work
