I still don't know how to wipe out my Vortex mods setup and start from scratch. I've been gradually reloading my mods fairly successfully...but then I start getting this when I add a mod. Can anyone tell me what is going on here amd how to correct it? Why does Vortex think mods are still present when I delete them from my game? I started a thread here about _completely deleting _ all My Vortex mods and starting from scratch, but got no meaningful answer. This is among the reasons I want to do this. I can only conclude there are mod files somewhere on my system that are still somehow linked to what I want to do modding my game [Cyberpunk 2077, if it's not obvious].

Thank you, but that does not answer my question. My_guess_ is that there is a mod that is causing the deployment to choke and produce that huge amount of text. I cannot tell what it is by looking at it, and I'm hoping someone can tell me.

There _still_ appears to be no way to simply wipe my game/system clean of mods. Uninstalling/purging, etc. doesn't appear to be it. There is a mod on Nexus [actually a batch file] that does a pretty good job of removing mod files from my game, but still leaves stuff on my _system_. I'm going to communicate with its creator and see if he can make something...

Yes it did answer your question - that is the method to 'start from scratch' with the caveat that Vortex won't touch anything not installed via Vortex. The answer you got in the other thread did answer your question but I posted that link above because it gives a 'fuller' explanation including some things to be aware of.

I don't know what's causing the issues in the error log, unfortunately - I've never played CP2077.

Why did you even say anything then? It's quite obvious the user tried the method you suggested and it doesn't work.

I am having the exact same issue, would be nice to get a response by someone who knows what they are talking about.

Hi,

If you want a complete clean out, try this:

  • Uninstall Vortex
  • Remove the Vortex folder in AppData/Roaming, commonly found at C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Vortex
  • Reinstall Vortex
