Dark0ne
Until you answer the question as to whether you're a previously banned user of the sites, RedHarlequin, the conversation is at an end. I have no wish to pay attention to disgruntled ex-members. So let me know what those account(s) were you used back in the TESSource days and I'll happily unhide your latest diatribe :)
Lisnpuppy
but maybe also save the costs that a moderator causes in case he / she is not needed anymore. i mean, they get paid for all their work, after all that is quite normal on no matter which community, at least a nice bottle of wine or a casket of beer once in a while, dont they? all that work for free... nope, i dont think anyone would do that. after all this would be such a waste of personal time, even collecting metal trash in a forrest would generate more income. Us regular moderators are volunteers. The only people getting paid here are the few coders that Dark0ne has hired. I have never received any payment of any kind (gifts or otherwise) in the few years I have been a moderator and that is fine by me. So there is no cost associated with moderators at all. I do this because I love this place and want to give back the good that was given to me.

Dark0ne
Yes, damn those typical Nexus staff types, cutting short the beating of the dead horse among the disgruntled few so we can get on with other things rather than going around in circles. Damn us all!

Lisnpuppy
*eats popcorn* Gosh, this is way better than my shows. Such upset about a gaming website...with people you have never and likely will never meet. A place you don't ever have to see or visit... oh wait... It's enough to make me lose my religion. petray
Great to hear you think things are getting better. While I appreciate and applaud the work you are putting into things, here are some of the problems I have had to put up with over the last week:-Live in the UK by the way.Manual Download - depends which server I use but most of them don't work. London seems to work fine most times.Nmm download - one file gave me 10 'error - file does not exist' yet I downloaded it manually first go(?)!Page one of Mod lists are the usual excellent display but from page 2 we seem to go to a listing type page that is frankly pretty useless and frustrating. Does the job but is truly awful.Getting on to Nexus in the first place is very hit and miss then staying on is even worse with freezing pages; transfers to Yahoo saying page does not exist etc., etc. Having been in Computer Support for over 25 years I do appreciate that problems occur. I think you are trying to do too much at any one time. Concentrate on one thing only and get that right then move on. Yes, it is great for me to talk but I am not in your situation - I have been though - and learned accordingly. Good luck - you will win and then we will appreciate your work even more but remember your customers and their frustrations - these are the important people and while you are doing all this work for us and our benefit bear in mind that even loyal customers will move elsewhere if they do not actually see some tangible improvement. Incidentally, small and stupid, but did you know the Bold; Italic and underline buttons on this reply page do not work nor do the smileys so I can't even temper this message with a nice of those. Dark0ne
Today's been pretty bad; we hit what looks like the next limit in our setup at 8,500 concurrent users, up from about 5,500 on the original setup. Traffic is progressing at quite a steady rate and we're having to play catch up. I cut short a dinner for a couple of friend's birthdays to come back and provide moral support to the staff sorting it out at 10pm tonight. The downloading side of things has been bad all month, this news post is still relevant to the ongoing work in that area. We hope to have both a new NMM version out to make that side of downloading a lot better and a new download mechanism for the manual side of things as well, this week. Can you expand on what you mentioned about the mod lists? Give links and a step by step run through of what you're doing and what you're seeing. It doesn't sound or seem right. RE: the bbcode buttons not working, what page are you posting from? If you're posting from the forums then the text is in RTE format, which means you have to highlight the text, then click the formatting option, and it'll apply it in What You See Is What You Get format. There's a few different mediums for posting so you might not be using the same one as me, though.
