heptagon7
Hi there, Vortex version: 1.9.3Game: Baldur's Gate 3Source: Steam (PC) I'm new to using mods, so please bear with me. I used Vortex to install mods for Baldur's Gate 3, but the game was producing error messages after the last mod I tried to install. I tried verifying the game files through Steam (nothing funny detected), tried disabling and uninstalling the specific mod with Vortex (didn't work), deleting all mods and installing only the previous ones that worked (in-game error messages still produced), unmanaging the game entirely (game started without error messages but obviously no mods). So, just to try to delete any residual files, I uninstalled Vortex and reinstalled it. This time, my intent was only to reinstall the prior mods that worked. However, when I tried to manage the game within Vortex, I get the following error message: "The game location doesn't exist or isn't writeable." Any help would be appreciated! Pickysaurus
Sounds like the folder you have the game installed to has some funky permissions. You should also check in the "Games" tab that the location of BG3 is correct.
showler
The game apparently got patched this morning as well. Is it confirmed that no extension updates are needed?
heptagon7
Hi, thanks for your replies. I haven't been able to find information regarding extension updates. Regarding permissions, I unchecked "Read only" for the directory {User}\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\baldursgate3, but now I'm getting a different error (see below). Any suggestions? Vortex expected a file but found a directory: "{User}\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\baldurgate3\mods\__vortex_staging_folder." code: EISDIR As a side note, I tried to paste in a screenshot, but it doesn't seem to be working. I also tried adding a .png file as an attachment, but you have to click the link to open it (which I understand some users would be hesitant to do). Any advice? (Again, new here - thanks for your patience!)
heptagon7
Alternatively, if there's a way to reset Vortex back to default settings (again, uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work for me), that would also be good to know...
