Nagev
Hello all, We're going to release 1.10.8 this morning to fix some of the leftover issues we spotted in 1.10.7; thanks again for everyone's help reporting issues and helping us track down the last tidbits. This update has two noteworthy bug fixes. Main one should ensure that the erroneous redundant mods notification is completely gone. The culprit here is a UI glitch allowing some users to apply manual file overrides to disabled mods. The rules calculation is not applied to disabled mods, and so the file overrides were not being updated correctly upon mod activation. The fix will ascertain whether you have any such file overrides on start up and remove them automatically if no other mod is deploying those files. Additionally we've received reports that the file preview functionality in the override editor was no longer functional as of 1.10.6 - this is now fixed as well. Can anyone affected by the above issues please confirm it's now fixed? Thanks and regards, Nagev

coverton
The update breaks VMM on linux. I know that linux is not officially supported so I'm not looking for support, but just wanted to pass on the information. It breaks the dotnet desktop environment and vortex no longer sees it as installed and can't fix the problem. The only current way to continue using VMM on linux is to uninstall and reinstall a previous version.
showler
To clarify, the 1.10.8 update or the just released 1.11.0 beta? I ask just because the newer update just came out and the other version has been out for over a month without a report of this.
coverton
Whatever version the lutris install tries to autoupdate to. I haven't run VMM for a bit of time, and about 3 to 4 days ago I tried starting it up and it performed an autoupdate and started throwing an error about dotnet desktop not being installed. The pop-up window with the fix button downloads and tries to install dotnet 6 but automatically shuts quickly at which point the dotnet error comes back on screen. There are only two options "quit vortex" and "fix". ANd again "fix" tries and fails to install dotnet 6 and loops until quiting vortex. I attempted to install dotnet 6 through winetricks. I tried installing through proton via the steam client, and manually installing through wine. The trouble is, dotnet is already installed and is able to be seen via the terminal when looked at through the lutris vortex install. This is all through the wine install and I could try installing through the alternate windows installation I suppose. So, I will do that and report back. coverton
I have it working now. If anyone else has the same issue I had, I uninstalled everything vortex related through lutris and reinstalled directly from exe via steam on proton experimental and then manually installed all the dependencies also via steam in the same proton instance. So far it is being stable and not throwing the dotnet errors
