Hi all,

I'm using Vortex 1.7.8 and after opening Vortex, an error notification pops up.

Can someone help me to fix this?

Our digital certificate has renewed since you last installed a version and the auto-updater is just being overly careful. If you download the latest version from the site and manually install it, then all will be fine.

Any problems, give us a shout.

Manually install the update? I downloaded it from the website and it's another install ".exe". Will using the new vortex.exe remove all my mods from the older version? How does this work?

You can install 'over the top'. Settings are saved in AppData and won't be removed. You won't want to downgrade once you've updated to 1.10 as there is ALOT that has been updated.

Ok, just to clarify what exactly do you mean by installing over the top?

If I download and install the latest version from the provided link first. And then deinstall the old version, my mods and settings will still be there and will be recognized by the new version?

Or do I have do deinstall the old version first and then install the new version?

Or are there any additional steps I missed?

Will is auto upadate at some point?

Users seeing this message haven't opened Vortex in a very long time. It will not automatically update, you need to install the new version manually and then future updates will continue as expected.
