Clicking on "Mod Manager Download" does nothing.

FO:NV - Steam

Almost Perfect - https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/60752?tab=files

Pretty much, delete my install of FO:NV, let Steam redownload it (as NMM-CE broke it trying to move it from the spinning rust to the SSD ) , created a new Profile in Vortex called Default, reinstalled the TTW files (since that's all manual) through clicking on "Install File" (since dragging / dropping .7z files was giving me a circle with a slash through it), pulled up the first of the Nexus mods on the Nexus page, clicked "Mod Manager Download" and observed nothing happening at all. No error message.

I then checked and see that Vortex is set to handle it

And checked and Firefox is set to send nmx to Vortex

So I tried to restart Vortex, I logged out of then into Nexus in the Vortex app, and nothing, in theory it * should * be working, but when I click "Mod Manager Download" it does absolutely nothing. How do I fix?

Did you try with a default browser like Edge?

The most likely reason is that an extension you have installed in Firefox is interfering with the download window coming up.

Oh the window pops up in Firefox, click Download, but nothing is happening in Vortex. Apologies, I should have clarified. >.<

Ah, in that case I would suggest two things.

In Vortex flip the "handle nxm links" option to off, then restart Vortex and flip it back on again.

If that doesn't work check the "use Vortex (default)" entry in the file associations to make sure it is still pointing at Vortex correctly and didn't get orphaned by a Vortex reinstall.

Ah, there is the problem. I wonder how I'm going to fix it, Windows is only giving two options and neither is Vortex. >.< The switch off the handle nxm links , closing then reopening Vortex, then switching on handle nxm links didn't do it. * hmm *

I should note that I still have 3 more games to bring over to Vortex that I'm not quite ready to do so (Fallout 4, Oblivion, Skyrim LE, and Skyrim SE), and the import NMM wasn't working on at least the one I tried (Skyrim SE) so... I rather not uninstall NMM CE if possible. Each game is going to be a tonne of work which is why I am teething on the one game that has to be reinstalled (FO:NV ) as it's broken and needed reinstalling anyway. See if I can't figure out Vortex and get to like it. Ya know?

Did you try this with something that isn't Firefox? The Firefox browser tends to almost always be the cause of these issues.

Well, I do have Edge, aka IE, the browser you use to get better browsers, but, let's see... Oh! I hacked the registry and finally got Windows to comply, thank God.

But that still didn't fix it for Firefox and... Quick try before I replied, didn't work for Edge neither, I even logged myself out of Vortex and used Edge to log myself into Vortex just to be sure. Edge popped up saying it needed to open Vortex, I clicked Ok, and nothing, didn't appear in the Downloads or Mod pages of Vortex. * head desks * Damn Windows. If I didn't feel reinstalling Vortex would break everything done so far (I have Starfield installed though it so far, and it went mostly flawlessly) I would have done that long ago. >.<
