raynman
Hey guys, Rayman here A couple of friends and i have decided to write and film a most random movie over the summer. Only problem is that we are having problems thinking of a script. If any of you would be willing to post ideas, that would be freakin' sweet. The only requisites are: It has to be an action movie PS: please include titles of awsome dramatic music you can think of that we could use Thanks
Peregrine
At least you'll never be accused of being unambitious.... You do realize that pretty much any decent action movie script is way beyond your ability to film, right?
raynman
oh I completely understand. We were looking for halfway decent script ideas to counteract the crappiness caused by low production ability. Oh, and minor gasoline fires/explosions/burning of random objects do the same job Catch my drift?
Peregrine
My advice: give up right now. Forget you even had this disaster of an idea. Right where you mention "gasoline fires/explosions/burning of random objects" you prove you don't have a clue what you're doing. You are 17, and have no business playing around with stuff like that. Trying to do your own movie effects is a good way to end up in the hospital. And my point about script quality is that any decent script is going to be far more demanding to film than you are capable of. It's an action movie, so any good script is going to have guess what, action! So when that good script calls for a car chase through the middle of a city while the main character and villain exchange anti-tank rockets, that's the end of your dream. If you really want to make a film, do something less demanding in effects work.

From what I can remember they concentrated on humour rather than action, and it worked rather well. A lot of it depended on the personality of the 'actors', but the 'lead' carried it off very well. Special effects and stunts were pretty much absent. Unless you are trained in proper safety procedures and have proper facilities, don't try pulling off any stunts or special effects. Dark0ne
When I was back in school some people I knew created an hour long film based in Medieval England. The script they wrote was really good and they managed to get the actor from The Lord of the Rings - The Two Towers who stands on Helm's Deep and says "Fire!" (The one with only one eye) to play a part in it. Not a biggy, but none-the-less it's something. The film featured swords, nudity (she was over 18 ;)) and horse-back riding. It was good fun, but it was also VERY well planned. The guys wanted to go into films and they thought this would be their best chance. Their site is at http://threearrows.co.uk/ , from what I hear their premiere hitched but things still went fine. The two main people involved sent off the DVD to several angencies and have several positive leads. So it goes to show, you're never too young to start thinking big. Now I know you don't plan to do this for a career, but hell, it's a lot better when everything has been planned before hand. EDIT: Check out their gallery -- Try and spot Jesus masquerading as a camera man! ;)
ThetaOrionis01
Malchik asked me to post this on his behalf since the computer he's using won't let him post: I have what I consider (well I would wouldn't I) a brilliant five minute film script. It requires three actors but there are no words - a boy in his early teens or slightly younger, a girl of eight or nine and an older woman. It is perfectly clean and above board. I would however want something out of it! Not money but the chance to get money! I have also written two plays that I am told are films. If you are serious let's talk. Peregrine, you shouldn't stamp on ideas just like that! Maybe they are thinking too big but nobody got anywhere by thinking too small, did they? raynman
Thank you Mal, you rock I understand stuff like that could get me hurt, so yes i may not do some of those things. To Theta, i like where you were coming from with spoof To Dark0ne, Thanks for inspirational story keep replying with ideas!
Peregrine
Peregrine, you shouldn't stamp on ideas just like that! Maybe they are thinking too big but nobody got anywhere by thinking too small, did they? I never said they shouldn't make a movie at all, just that they should find a different subject. If they want to make a movie, good luck to them. But an action movie is probably the worst idea they could have, especially when they start talking about doing their own fire and explosions. They'll either end up frustrated and disappointed, or in the hospital.
D@N
i agree with pergine you should try some thing easyer to start with then move on to bigger things such as what you wanted to do (the blowing things up) that is for more experienced actors and directors. hope your movie comes out good good luck.
