DeicideFelidae
I'm not sure what to do but I can't get the latest F4SE to work with either mod loader. When I run F4SE through the mod loader it crashes. I haven't even added any mods yet. Any help or directions is appreciated, if I should not play on latest version of FO4 I will take that advice. TenaciousDSquare
Take a look at this guide from GamerPoets: Unleash Your Fallout 4 Powers with F4SE for MO2 & Vortex!
fraquar
a) Know your game version b) Download the version of F4SE that matches (EXACTLY) your game version. c) The .EXE and .DLL go in the game folder - where the .EXE's reside for launching the Fallout 4 game. d) The Scripts folder (from F4SE) can either go in the game directory OR it can be installed as a mod in your mod manager - your choice. fraquar
Beyond that, make sure all of your F4SE mods you use/install are verified to work with the version of the game you are using.

jjb54
I still use NEXUS MOD MANAGER and it works great: Simple - Easy - No issues. You might want to check it out?
DeicideFelidae
Thankyou all for the replies, really do appreciate, been wanting to play Fallout 4 for ages with a few simple mods. I haven't actually even tried running it with mods yet. Problems I encountered were occurring on raw F4SE with any mod loader. Today I tried again and now vanilla FO4 wont event run. I've heard in the past that some games don't like Secondary SSD Drives So I'm going to reinstall it on my Primary Boot Drive to see if that helps at all. I followed the YouTube tutorial but shortly after the game was broken. Fallout 4: Game Version: 1.10.984.0 Platform: STEAM Version Fallout 4 Script Extender: Runtime Version: 1.10.984 Version: 0.7.2 Source: Nexus Mods FO4 I havn't actually tried any mods but these are the mods I wanted: Extended Blood Graphics (I like a bit of blood) Calientines Beautiful Bodies (Nudity adds to the immersion for me) Skip New Intro (I've played the intro too many times on PS4)
showler
Long shot, but have you tried this: Crashing on startup? Remove everything from Data/F4SE/Plugins.
subaverage
If the vanilla version doesn't work either and you haven't been able to play, yet the standard procedure would be to wipe FO4 completely from your computer. That means uninstall and afterwards delete the entire Fallout4 folder + the Fallout4 folder under ...\Documents\My Games + the Fallout4 folder under C:\Users\"your username"\AppData\Local. Afterwards make a clean new install in the default installation folder. I hope you didn't change the installation folder of the steam client. After the new install you can either try to start the FO4 launcher to make some graphic settings or FO4 directly from it's exe. I recommend not to use a mod manager, yet. If the game starts go to the main screen and not further. You can make some settings like controls, audio, display, etc. The game now creates new ini-files. You can leave it without beginning a new playthrough. Now you need to make the necessary ini-changes to enable mods and loose files. A guide you find here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=576546039 If you did all this you can try to start the game. If it does you can leave from the main screen again. Now it's the moment to decide whether to use a mod manager or not. I would alway recommend the use of one, but cannot say anything to MO2 or Vortex as I still use NMM like jib54. But MO2 and Vortex should work with the new F4SE. I believe it's best not to change the manager after you installed the first mods. When you decided to use one you can try to start the game again through the manager. If it works go to the main menu screen again and leave. The 3 mods you listed don't need F4SE to work. You can install them and start your game. If it works you could begin your playthrough. But one the long run you might want more and the point that you need F4SE comes fast. You always have to make sure that your wanted mod matches your F4SE version. As fraquar wrote the installation of F4SE version 0.7.2 for game version 984 is: "Copy f4se_1_10_984.dll and f4se_loader.exe to your Fallout installation folder. This is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout 4\, but if you have installed to a custom Steam library then you will need to find this folder yourself. Copy the Data folder over as well." After all this you can try to start the game through the f4se_loader.exe from your Fallout4 installation folder (you can make a desktop shortcut for it). The mod manager is not necessary to start FO4 through F4SE. Edited October 1 by subaverage
DeicideFelidae
Reinstalled my FO4 on my boot drive, wiped the AppData/local for it as well as the Doucments/My Games folder for it too. Going to try Vanilla & confirm it is working.
