showler
Oh, by the way "Unlimited Survival Mode" is a non-Bethesda mod that requires Survival Mode to be active. That's why you're getting errors and crashing. Nothing to do with Bethesda. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26163
jjb54
First off - You are running it through STEAM ... I am running it through FO4SE .. which does not go through Steam like your video. So you know what: Let's just go with: INDVIDUAL RESULTS MAY VARY. As I also know a good number of FO4 and Skyrim had tried your method and it did NOT work. So again - INDIVIDUAL RESULTS MAY VARY. I am glad that you have it working without the cc(mods) that are hard set into the game, since the last so called update! Have fun - and yes I mean it. So again, I guess we just have to go with: INDIVIDUAL RESULTS MAY VARY .... And as I stated, I am NOT the only FO4 / Skyrim player that has this issue and followed your afore mentioned method. showler
No. You literally have a F4SE DLL file still enabled that CANNOT WORK without the main mod it modifies. Disable that DLL and you won't have the crash. That's the problem, not Bethesdas. Also, I don't know why I have to say this but Bethesda HAS NOT EVER, WILL NOT EVER AND CANNOT make their game work with non-Bethesda mods. Regardless of whether they are F4SE mods or normal mods. But you can choose which of two conflicting mods you want to use, even if one is a CC item, as long as one isn't LITERALLY A MOD THAT MODIFIES THE CC MOD. Now if you'd like to argue that hopefully some other people will point out how hard-headed you are being. I'd assume anyone else having the same problem as you has also failed to remove a mod that depends on one of the CC items. jjb54
You sure make a lot of assumptions! First - Like I stated, your video was through STEAM - which is fine. But SE does *NOT* go through STEAM. Second - A month ago, I verified all my DLL's are up to date. For you to assume that without asking me, is .. well .... you are incorrect, sorry! showler
Sigh. "up to date" doesn't matter. You can't have that DLL active without the CC mod PERIOD. It's like you pulled the foundation out of a house and expect the house to float in air. The CC content is no different from the updates to No Man's Sky or any other game that receives updates. It's just that Bethesda has a built in way of adding the new content without having to rewrite the main files. Would you expect to be able to remove any updates from any other game that receives them? In this case you actually can. The aren't hard set. You are just too stubborn to remove the DLL file that's causing the problem. The difference between CC mods and community created mods is that Bethesda is responsible for support for the CC mods. If they conflicted with the main game or other CC mods or DLC then Bethesda would be responsible for fixing the conflicts. If they conflict with any community created mods it's up to the mod author to fix it. SHOCK! Something from Bethesda has bugs. I'm so surprised. jjb54
Bethesda does NOT support said mods. I already asked. < - Ponder that for 30 seconds. They told me to go talk to the MOD CREATOR ( I am talking the cc-mods that are forced on us ). So I go to the creator and am told, since Bethesda put it into base game .. they really cannot do anything about it! .... NOW GO FIGURE. And yes, I did indeed go to Bethesda and yes I did go to the mod creator. Bethesda did us no FAVORS by forcing mods that most of us could care less about! In fact, it would be a very safe bet, that IF Bethesda gave us the choice: A. Download this for CC MODS B. Download this without CC MODS. .... B would be chosen hands down! Okay - at this point, it was an interesting debate / dialog - but I'm done.
showler
That's good because I don't believe your first statement.
showler
To be completely honest I tested this again with F4SE and even while using the Unlimited Survival Mode - F4SE mod and neither of them prevented the game from loading with the CC mods removed. I considered that it might be a problem with the Unlimited Survival Mode - F4SE mod registering with the MCM based on the error message that was posted earlier but adding the MCM also did not have any problems. Without having a full breakdown on what mods are installed on the OP's machine I can't really say what is causing the problem. But I can guarantee anyone reading this that it is not a deliberate action by Bethesda since it works perfectly fine in vanilla when there is no possibility of a mod interaction with random community created mods.
