Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

I agree with a lot of what Aether posted:

"I would like to have an option to not see "Popular Collections". I feel it takes the focus away from new mods. I have never used collections before and have no intention to ever do so, that's not to say they're a bad thing, I just don't want to see them.

I agree with the assertion that there is too much wasted space. The game title header takes up way too much space, I'd prefer if it wasn't even there. There is too much vertical space between sections (Trending Mods, Popular Collections, More Mods). It would also be nice if the page automatically expanded horizontally to fit the browser's width, allowing more mods to be shown in the "More Mods" section."

So did this new look go live today, or did I accidentally click on 'join beta"?  If I joined beta, how do I un-join?

Well this is certainly...a thing.  So I'm actually a (popular) collection user, but I still don't give 2 steaming craps about seeing popular collections on the front page.  So I've bookmarked a different page & will be using it to skip right past the frontpage 100% of the time.

Chucking my two bits in to say the new UI is dildos. Updating the look was just not necessary, especially not updating it to a glorified mobile site. Last I checked, I didn't download my mods for my PC games on my phone. Update your technical code, sure, but leave the UI alone. At least let us go back to the old one with a toggle in our user preferences. Even reddit managed that. Hell, even imgur managed that one.

And holy s#*!, no-one gives a flyer about collections. Stop trying to force them down our throats.

add a layout that matches the old system and it would be received alot better. an option to customize the page easily would also be smart. we have less information taking up more space so im not sure what the goal of the overhaul was other than to make it look smooth. theres so much extra space on the side of the site thats deadspace, i assume if i wasnt a premium member they would be chock full of ads. which is disappointing to think that might be the reason. make people scroll longer to get to the mods they do care about so you get more ad numbers.
