Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

I don't like how the new search engine works, I can't seem to filter out all non-english mods. Like every time I want to filter them out, I have to select each and every language now. Very annoying especially because translation mods into foreign languages are very common on Nexus.

Before I was confused by the search window. It was showing other games than the page I was already on. It showed me others game BEFORE collections but at least AFTER mods. But now it shows me others games BEFORE mods ? Why ? I'm on Skyrim Special Edition page. I want to see MODS for SKYRIM. I don't want to see JoJo's Bizarre Adventure game or any other game. That is so weird to me

They've set it to 'all content' by default, even if you're on the Mods or Collections page. Only way to change it is to do so manually before each search query.

It was intentionally removed and they 'hope to bring it back somewhere else' (paraphrased). In the meantime I've set my notifications to ping me when someone comments on one of my mods.

Removing very used features, this is like if they removed the ability to endorse or comment. If they keep going with the direction of removing functionality, eventually they'll release the next UI update and their slogan for the update will be, "Nexusmods, No More Mods Update!"

Are the designers even listening anymore? I get the distinct impression they don't really care what we think.

Doesn't look like it, there hasn't been a staff reply in many pages and feedback on the feedback boards continues to get removed, not even declined anymore. "Listening anymore" also implies they ever listened, but no feedback be it from the beta or now has been acted upon.

The new mod library list makes me want to poke my eyes out. It is awful, and reminds me of something from the 1990-ies. The previous version felt fresher, more logical, easier to navigate, just simply way more excellent than this new junk. I'm having problems motivating myself to even go to download anything now. If that was the goal, then well done.

Definitely feels like a step back. The pages are less condensed with lots of empty space, so you have to scroll more.

We're also missing the feature to search for mods within a range of dates (eg 1/1/20 to current date) which was extremely useful, especially for games which are years old like SSE and FNV. Choosing between "one year" and "all time" is functionally useless when you're modding a game that's over 15 years old. Especially true for games that have had mini-renaissance moments like FNV did in 2018/2019.

Notifications seem broken too, I have to mark all as read at least twice just for it to count.
