Mod Browsing Overhaul Discussion

Lol they literally stopped people from using scripts to get the old site back. That's how petty they are. I'm pretty sure if a new site popped up that was similar to the old UI, people would navigate. Changing the UI is one thing. Being narcissistic, petty, and refusing to listen to the feedback of the majority? For being 'only a team of 30 devs', that can't find a UI toggle "feasible", but can jack up the whole UI against the feedback of the majority of the users, even a 'less established' site is looking better and better.

I rather like the idea of making this a CHOICE, and allowing those that want to, to revert back to the 'old' interface. After all, aren't 'updates' supposed to imply 'improvement'??? From where I am sitting, the only folks that seem to think the new one is better, are nexus staff....... The users seem to be universally panning it.

Granted, I am sure Robin doesn't wanna flush all that development money down the toilet..... and supporting two interfaces can be complex....... But, it is obvious to me, this is what 'the people' want..... you know, the folks that actually SUPPORT this site.

That's what I thought the BETA test was for, but they always just seem to ignore the feedback, and claim it was all positive and go with the change anyway, which is EXACTLY why I didn't participate in it, because I knew it was going to be pointless,
For me, BETA on this site, actually means “PREVIEW”, and “COMING SOON.”
Always has, and for the foreseeable future, Always will.
I've seen it a number of times since 2008.

If this thread isn't enough, I am not sure what would be....... Here we are on the forums of the site in question, and the response has been universally negative. In the 33 pages I have been watching this thread, (and participating...) I have YET to see ONE person say they like/prefer the new layout over the old..... Yet staff would have us believe the response has been 'overwhelmingly positive'????? Really???? I find that rather difficult to accept.... given the results I am seeing here......

apparently to them its not. And in their eyes its positive.

And even the logical people that give great solutions and points to help the site are ignored or replied with something totally unrelated.

What's more infuriating is that the “Old Site” still exists, but they're insisting on pushing this new design, come hell or high water.

I note that staff ARE reading this thread...... Though I haven't seen any indication that there is any discussion about 'change of direction' here...... Not encouraging.....

What they will likely do. Is take the number of pages from this forum. Show none of the posts and claim it was a massive turnout. Supporting the new design they pushed. In other words this entire thread of nearly solid complaints. Will become their "selling point". Also hi moderator who has to approve this post. Bet I hit the nail on the head didn't I? Can't wait for it to be rejected now to silence it. XD

The feeling I'm getting is that they're just “letting us go, until we get all tuckered out and go to sleep, and forget about the changes”

As it is, I can't browse the site without getting headaches. Nexus is dead for me until this changes.

The "New" button immediately draws my eye. It is bright, large, and on a dark background and as a result the brightness is emphasized to the point where it was the only thing in the screenshot that I could see while scrolling the page.

I imagine that if I had a migraine I'd have closed the page immediately and stepped away from my computer, but luckily I don't have one at the moment.

#8e8e8e on top of #232326 would look even better, but that's like, just my opinion, man.

The sample you have provided represents only a small portion of what a whole page would appear like, and I am afraid that with the level of darkness it currently encompasses, that the overall experience will still prove to be overwhelming. The text is a good size (personally speaking), but I agree with WndMll's opinion (included below) that the colour hex of #8e8e8e would be a major improvement.

Whilst we cannot use "#8e8e8e on top of #232326" as some of you have suggested, as this does not meet WCAG AAA accessibility standards.

However, we're actively working on adjusting the contrast values to help resolve the issues you're having. We've made a quick edit to part of the game homepage to see if this helps with your issues.
You can open the the full image to make it closer to using the website directly https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/3333/images/12393/12393-1742919067-1216899835.png

Can you please let me know if this helps? If it doesn't, please let me know which parts of the page are you finding problematic.
