HollownessDevoured
Liking the purple (but it is one of my favourite colours), and I see the removal of the horribly bright and barely legible white on gold award for being top poster from forum profiles is finally gone (I am pretty sure I brought that up a year ago). Also the outline on staff posts is helpful. But I still see a lot of similar posts and concerns being glossed over, hopefully, it is only because a specific staff member is planning on addressing or getting back to us on with a proposed fix or some options to show us. I agree and hate the cut off of words, like my name in the forums. It feels like an amateur site to cut off words like that (I am not HollownessDevou red). I complained a year ago, why isn't there scaling on longer names. If the name is within the allowed characters to create an account it shouldn't cut off. Should be the same idea for mod names if it is within the characters for naming—it should be legible in a tile and not cut off with "...". I cannot even go to the nexus site, the new UI is so bad, even to check out improvements, if there are any... I am overwhelmed by the wasted space and the less efficient (compared to the previous) UI. And collections for my game are carp (DAO is just not a collections friendly game), and should be optional to remove/hide that wasted line/space in the user settings. The fifth tile (or add more if you have a larger screen size) is just something I don't think we can get over, four is just not cutting the mustard.
Staff jmharris Posted March 26 Staff Share Posted March 26 20 minutes ago, Glitchfinder said: I'm noticing this too. Fallout 4 currently has a trending mod that should have fallen off about 22 hours ago, and another one that should have disappeared about 9 hours ago. These day based cutoffs are currently filtering on date > n days ago at the beginning of the day (0000 hours). We'll review this, thanks for raising. If you're currently experiencing discomfort, let me know if the below is more comfortable for you. To clarify, this only covers improvements for those that find the contrast too high. It doesn't cover feedback on the layout which we are looking at separately: I think having another, lighter colored box behind all of the tiles and going a bit out the sides and up to more mods would make this a lot better. I also agree with the comments about the wasted space, tighten these boxes up.
Raven1417
If a major redesign of the site is met by mostly criticism and rejection AND the major redesign is requiring constant community consultation to fix and tweak and update it because everything from basic functionality to accessibility is borked to varying degrees then maybe the major redesign has been poorly thought out and implemented? Maybe it should have been tested for longer, maybe greater effort to advertise the upcoming changes to get more feedback during testing should have happened so that the new site didn't become an ugly, basic square space template looking, screen real estate wasting mess? I get wanting to update things to make managing the site easier on the backend but that shouldn't result in a new look website that wouldn't pass a Web Design 101 class. But the responses from Nexus staff on here and Reddit practically sounding like Karoline Leavitt soundbites show that they don't really care for any critical or objective feedback that doesn't explicitly match what they want to hear. 16
Fatcat6573
Is this site run by like some business robot in a human costume or something? The new ui is horribly ugly, the browsing mods page looks like a cheap knock-off of the Bethesda net mod browsing page. Why can you only see like 4 mods maximum at one time while browsing? Why is this whole site apparently being overhauled to please a tiny minority of people (mobile users) when that change ruins the experience for the pc users that make up the vast majority of the people on this site? Please just revert this change and pretend this never happened. People only use this site for downloading mods, please stop trying to make this place something it isn't. 3

And whose bright idea was it to push a UI update like this to production without meeting feature parity with the old one!? 11

But, if they ignore it long enough, maybe it'll go away??? I brought this point up 20 pages or so ago. I didn't get a response from staff, I suspect (and would be heavily) you won't either. 2 1
NexBeth
5 hours ago, HeyYou said: I am still advocating for giving users a CHOICE of which version they wanna use, the new 'mobilized' version, or the old one, that look FAR better on PC screens..... But, as has been the trend in this thread, the staff that DO respond, do NOT say a single word about this possibility. They are only dealing with relatively minor issues with the current version, totally ignoring everything else. They have answered in other topics. The answer is no. They aren't going to manage 2 UI's. Also, they moved away from the old UI because of unresolvable problems with it that made it impossible to continue with it. Now what that is, don't know. They also said that the BETA was closed, but apparently, they are still troubleshooting and taking in some suggestions and fixes. So we can hope for the best there. They have conceded to some complaints, but certainly not all.

tpunk23
TBH the fact any company has the ego and balls. To basically flip the bird at the userbase that signs their checks for them. Kinda boggles my mind here. Without users you make 0 money. NONE, Zilch, Not a single damn cent. So at the end of the day what the userbase likes. Should outweigh what the staff likes right? Thats how you sell a product? I dono I never went to business school but some how I highly doubt. There is a seminar on shooting yourself in the foot. Yet its such a common thing to see these days. The ego trip rather than the humility and community. The me instead of we. I am pretty much done talking here. This is pointless and I like countless others. Will be redoubling my efforts to find an alternative. In hopes that the staff get a boot to the head. To jar their cognitive senses.
