Look, serious question here, if anyone entered the beta and did not like the new design and then left the beta without providing any feedback, then how did they expect their opinion to matter in any way?

Nexus provided a means for people to provide feedback.  In multiple ways over multiple years.  Either you took advantage of it or you didn't.

Now people are asking them to toss out two years worth of invested time and money.  That's very unlikely to happen.  What's likely to happen is that they'll ride out the current storm and then start adjusting the design according to feedback they get that's not "change it all back".  That's what happened last time they made a major change at any rate.

And while I'm sure this thread gives the impression that there is a major revolt against the new design, they have around 100,000 unique daily visitors and it looks like the vast, vast majority have not bothered to express any opinion either for or against the new design.

I believe I mentioned this. But in an attempt to clarify what I meant: It could have been a poll with questions addressed specifically for users who left. These questions would have been of different nature than those who polled users who spent a more considerable time in the beta. As I don't know exactly what kind of feedback Nexus was looking for, or were to look for in such a scenario, I can only guess and give examples of questions that could have been useful to Nexus. E.g. "What feature/design choice prompted you to leave the beta and why?"

Are you bringing up Western sanctions against Russia for some reason?  Not really relevant to anything, is it?

Listen, who are you? Try living in a country that's at war when your friends are dying, and then f*#@ off!

I wouldn't mind this new update if it was feature complete and was as functional.

But instead we got was less features and what was kept is less functional.

My only other critique is to name things how they were previously. Example, trending mods should just be hot mods.

You should never push an update fully aware that it's not on par with whats there now.

I can understand you are designing this to be "visual" for people that prefer that - but why force that view on everyone?  Its laughable that the head of design says, "If you're solely focused on mods, it’s easy to forget that users browse other types of content too" - you guys remember your name, right?  NexusMods.  That is why the majority of us visited the website first.

I would absolutely support Nexus making some other pages for just pics or videos or whatever people are apparently coming here for. It could look as bland and modern as needed. But yes, mods. We're here for mods - it's not Instagram. I hope. I have, thankfully, used a browser extension to keep my eyes happier because that strange gradient/font combo was giving me a headache. I guess we have to make do.

I ran in to much the same problem at my day job (obviously, not the Nexus!). I'm not a web designer, but I was drafted into remaking the website in my boss's ideal style. It's hideous and looks like the 00s. She loves it, no one else does. She's convinced every is on mobile, few users actually are. Sometimes people are very married to their "baby". 🤷‍♀️ We just make do there as well.

Good. But please return the list view.

It was, as far as I remember, a poll available to anyone who tried the beta with a simple "did you like it? yes/no" question and a text field for giving specific feedback.  People can't be forced to give feedback, they have to choose to.

And they still can.  Pretty much the only thing that the Nexus staff is saying "no, that's not an opton" to is the requests to completely roll back the entire design.

Which makes the “Search by date range” an invaluable, (and now), necessary feature.

I believe it's already been said, but I can additionally confirm- this is being worked on.

Maybe there was but I must have missed it then.

And indeed, people are giving their feedback in this topic. I was more referring to before the live rollout, how more feedback could have perhaps helped mitigate some of the issues going on (e.g. category defaults on Search) and the overall reception of the change.
