Expand My major concern? That this update is just like every single update in the past where the Nexus makes it sound like we have a voice, in these matters, and even say that there was a “poll”, and that every single time, it's always a cadre of people who never participate on the website, are the ones who mysteriously knew about the poll and filled it FULL of POSITIVE COMMENTS and REVIEWS. That's how it goes with every single update. That's why that famous Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy Scene about the “Plans being on display” gets posted In every single one of these UPDATE Announcement threads. Because the invisible polls are just used as an excuse to go forward with extremely unpopular changes that make the site look WORSE, and that completely kill any productivity, IE, the useless POP-UP search window that took a very fast functional way to work, and turned it into a comical CLICK-FEST that doesn't need to be. It ALWAYS boils down to these “feedback” threads ending in: “We're going to do it this way no matter what you people want, and no matter the points you've made, because WE want the change, so be quiet, and sit down, because this change is happening whether you like it or not. Now, if any of you keep talking about it, we're just going to start deleting posts, locking threads, and banning people” Just like the Great Purge of Mod Authors and Users back when Collections were forced on us, you know, those things that NOBODY liked, but once again, we were told that there was some Poll where the Response was “Overwhelmingly Positive”. It's always cool to see people who don't make mods, making more DP from collections by using other people's hard work, than the modders themselves. So, once again, for the Nth time, it's been the same old song and dance. 1. Announce a Beta test of “Possible” changes/updates 2. Start a feedback thread 3. See all the overwhelmingly negative feedback 4. Tell everybody there were polls (That nobody could see, and that the ALL the Feedback was POSITIVE™ 5. Start threatening to delete posts, lock threads and ban people 6. Go ahead with the changes anyway, no mater how negative the actual, real feedback was 7. Go to step 1. I've been here since this site started back in 2003 for Morrowind Modding, this is the Standard Operating Procedure for how Changes are presented and brought about. It's never changed. It ALWAYS goes this way, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. 8

If possible, 3 or more bulletpoints would be useful. Expand 1. Did you see my post, with screenshot) about how ridiculously overlarge the News page is? The screenshot is from a full 1920×1080 full-screen monitor. I can only see THREE full news tiles, 3 HALF Tiles, and have to scroll down to see the remaining 2 tiles. There are EIGHT news stories, I can see THREE and A HALF of them, because the tiles are so comically HUGE. There's absolutely no need for that, the old site you could see every single news story at one glance. What is the purpose of making these tiles so insanely MASSIVE? See “Goofy Tiles.jpg” below) 2. The ability to switch between GRID and LIST view. Other Websites have it, and there's no reason for this site not have that ability, unless the design team is incapable of implementing it. (See GOG sorting.jpg below) 3. My third bullet point and that my first two bullet points were never even acknowledge to exist in the first place, so every time, you Cms kept asking for “Detailed Posts”, people would post detailed posts, and then CMs would come in here, and respond to the posts that contained ONE OR TWO SENTENCES instead. Like Intentional Slights to the people they asked for detailed posts, and provided screenshots and a lengthy description, and then the posts were completely ignored, and the two sentence post that came right before of after the post was answered instead. Yea, not getting a good feeling of ANY Feedback being listened to. Like a scene of somebody at a party with their hand out waiting to shake hands, and the host walks right past them and greets a different guest instead. That's how the responses have felt from the CMs in here. Why go through all the work of making a lengthy DETAILED post including screenshots, when their existence isn't even acknowledged. The only HINT I've gotten that my lengthy post with screenshots was at least seen (but not read0< was your current mention of posts being “Copied and Pasted”, which seems to imply my particular posts that included screenshots, that were never even acknowledged to exist, but was used an example of WHY you're planning on locking the thread. Just tried the main screen where you click "SEARCH ALL OUR GAMES" Now THAT also opens a window and instead of just typing in the name of the game and having the results automatically change to what's typed in the search box, you now type in the name of the game, and have to click APPLY. WHAT'S WITH ALL THE EXTRA CLICKING NOW???? Stuff that could be sone with ZERO CLICKS, now require 1-3 clicks. How is that EFFICIENT and an IMPROVEMENT???

If other considerations outweigh your suggestion then your suggestion doesn't get done. This is normal. This is how every business in the world functions. Even when a company seems to accept negative feedback and reverses course on something it is because they weighed that negative feedback against other considerations and decided it was beneficial to reverse course. Expand That's all well and good, and is a pretty good attempt to whitewash what's happening in this thread..... However, given the OVERWHELMING amount of negative feedback here, and the distinct LACK of even ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of said feedback, and an even greater lack of ACTION on that feedback, you will have to excuse me if I simply dismiss what you have to say as white noise. So far in this thread, the ONLY thing YOU have contributed, seems to be as a shill for staff doing whatever they want, regardless of what it appears the actual USERS of the site want. And with that, I bid you adieu, I won't be responding to any more of your posts here. Have a nice day. 4
Community Manager Demorphic Posted April 3 Community Manager Share Posted April 3 In response to @HadToRegister 1. You can only see 3 full news tiles and not the full next row. This will not be changed. 2. Grid and list view. In at least 50 of your posts, you have mentioned this. It's already been said multiple times, this is something we are exploring. This means I can't say how it will look or when it might come back, because it has not been decided. I hope this is clear? 3. Can you share a screenshot where you click "SEARCH ALL OUR GAMES". Just trying to understand what you are doing here.

Posts that are being made here are also being copy/pasted multiple times into the news post and it's getting very messy, with limited value. (...) The quick search has been getting some updates with more to follow. It will continue to be a modal that pops up over your current page. I know this approach of overlaying of underlying content has been something that several posters in this thread have expressed dismay towards, and I'm sorry this is such a departure from your normal way of searching, however, this won't be changed. Expand 1. How is getting positive feedback from hundreds of undisclosed users a signal to push the changes to the UI, but getting negative feedback of hundred named users "an echo chamber of even decreasing value"? What kind of rhetoric is this? If community raises the same complaints over and over again, maybe it's a signal that those elements need changing - but in a way that benefits the community / userbase. 2. As for the quick search, is the big popup covering most of the screen and working slower considered an improvement over the old quick search bar? It feels like Nexus is trying to have its own "search engine" that is capable of looking up mods and other elements across the whole website. Is that the intended functionality here? What's wrong with having quick search relate only to the game landing page it was used from? Wouldn't that speed up the search process and give users more consistent results? 4

The several issues I have already brought up, that you actually DID respond to, was a resounding "No. We are going to do what we want, regardless of what the users want." Which is pretty much exactly what I expected. At least you folks are consistent. 4
