Mod Browsing Overhaul Open Beta

I like the current ability to search for mods in a date range, and was hoping the new version would allow saving common searches. For instance "Most Endorsed in the last 3 years".  The new version only has date range that goes back one year, which is not enough variety.

There wasn't an option in the Feedback Form to add additional notes so I'm going to add it here.

There needs to be a way to delete items out of the download history and to filter our download history by game. For those of us who download a lot of mods, it gets hard to keep track of everything when it is all grouped together. Some mods I downloaded a long time ago I don't use anymore but they're still in my download history taking up space when I search for updates.

1. The main game pages are too compressed. You cannot even read half of the mods titles, let alone the content inside the brief version of their descriptions. The only things that seem to be fleshed out are the featured Collections. Speaking of which...

2. I have a list of eye-bleach inducing mod authors that I enjoy the privilege of blocking. However, one of these blocked ones has a Collection that is featured prominently on a game's front page, and though I have double-checked and they and any content they create remain on my Blocked list, they're not vanishing from the main page.

Just want to reiterate that the smut peddlers I have blocked still have their content proudly on display because they happen to control popular Collections.

Tried the Beta yet again. Was blinded by SMUT within seconds. So, let's try this once more:

Can you PLEASE  fix the filters for authors who are supposed to be Blocked? Or is controlling a "Popular Collection" a get-out-of-jail-for-free card? 🔥💀🔥

When using the new beta site, and trying to change the sort by, the dropdown appears slightly out of frame so the options at the top cannot be selected. To solve it you just have to scroll down slightly and then try and it'll work. Endorsements and date published are what're cut out

Thought I'd bring it to you all's attention 🙃🥰 ... pic for reference:

(It could also be because of the browser I'm using tbh, Opera browser)

It's not just collections. Blocked authors setting is ignored THROUGHOUT the Beta site. So, also in the Trending mods, in the Mods section and in the Media section. EVERYWHERE! What a joke. ☠️

As for presets for mod pages, alot of mod pages follow very simple style "rules" when decorating, presenting.

If you look at the description part you will mostly likely always see:

  • Preface, Overview, etc.
  • Features, etc.
  • Known Issues, etc.
  • Credits, etc.

people either use written word or add images to highlight the differenct sections. I remember asking for this in a different post already though more compact. What i would like to have is to store those images on the nexus instead of third party sites, and in turn use global mod page description boxes which i can use to decorate the mod description.

I hope you overhaul the "Premission", "Requirements", "Credits" tabs/boxes too, since many people dont know or skip these since they are actually hidden by a spoiler function.

Acutally this is pretty bad, you should more likely make them open to browse.

Yes one can add a pop-up box when people download the mod for the requirements but just please think about a smart solution to show it more convenient.

For the changelog reveal it instantly, but hide the different major entries instead. Show version 001, 002, 003, etc. but hide the content per version number. This would be super neat tbh. The changelog tab should really see a revamp since its hard to navigate if it reaches a certain size ... it will show the entire changelog when clicking, isnt there a more compact solution?

Thanks for reading.

I'm struggling to reproduce what you're describing for the mods sections. When I block an author, I'm seeing their mods being removed from Trending Mods, the Mods section and the /mods pages.

We're aware of the blocks not applying to both the Media and Collections sections, a fix is in the works.

Have you checked tags? I admit, I cannot reproduce it now either. It could have been tags that I've seen previously. The difficulty is that trending mods are selected differently in Beta so there's no direct comparison. I haven't looked at Beta for a week or so because of the media section not being filtered correctly and, well, because the original is less black and easier on the eyes... So by now we have a different selection of mods up and I cannot reproduce the issue which I thought I had.

Yes, I also checked tags and they are blocking mods correctly 🙂
