Why not? I have my browser open almost all the time, maybe to quickly check something on a mod page, or maybe to watch a Youtube/Twitch video during longer load times. Pretty normal to have the browser open....

borderline unusable with browser hardware acceleration off (I have to turn it off so my browser doesn't completely tank when I play GPU heavy games, this is on any fork of Firefox afaik).

Coming from Win 95 DOS-based games, to the present, I have just found that running stuff in the background uses up resources, sometimes very quickly, and can cause weird problems.  IIRC, Firefox is one of those that sucks up resources, especially when left open over longer periods.  @SearingEchoseems to have found this out, and the possibly quick solution is to not run the browser when playing their 'GPU heavy' games.

I must say the overall supe sized UI is not what i think is smart. All the space for the advertisement is not used when having premium membership. I would love to be able to resize and fill all the space with mod preview boxes.

Thank you (the creators) for making the site.  It has allowed gamers and Moders to connect.  People found new games, broke keyboards, discovered careers, and grasped passions because of NEXUS.

I am one of them.

I wish the OG creators were the ones to profit (and I hope they did), but somebody else did, right?!?

"You've got their info, monetize it!!" - Was a version of that ever said?

Were mod-rights sold or monetized?

I Sincerely hope not.

That wouldn't apply to all games and use cases. You can name your files in that section however you like though!

Not really. With how short file names have been made of late, I can't even put the full name of some of the mods I'm patching into the name field. If the names really can't be a length that allows for descriptive names, you should allow us to put more text into the description for the file so we can properly detail things. That's why I've got files like this scattered all over:image.png.d877e9dd9350d52f03cc1951c33ddc6f.png

And this is one of the good cases where I could still manage to use the description without abbreviations.

Adding more text isn't the fix here. As I'm sure you'll be one of the first to agree with, users don't read big blocks of text.

We have adding file level dependencies on our radar. I remind the team almost every day that we need it 😅

That's why I'm so disappointed that the file names have been cut so short. Players (usually) read those even when they skip descriptions. It used to be that I could have a full length descriptive filename like "1 - Boston Natural Surroundings - Green Trees Patch", which isn't even that long considering it references both a mod name and the file on that mod page that I patch. But now I have to name it "1 - BNS - Green Trees Patch" and hope the player understands the acronym or reads the description enough to learn that this will cause a crash to desktop if they use the wrong patch for Boston Natural Surroundings.

I don't believe this is a problem that would be resolved by file specific requirements. Those are very useful and would allow cleaner handling of the dependencies for patches, yes. But that doesn't actually address the actual problem, which is finding the specific patch to install in a long list of files.
