question Hardlink deployment not an option.

I'm trying to mod Fallout 4, but for some reason when I try to choose a deployment method it will only show "Move Deployment(Experimental)". My mod staging folder and game are on the same drive so I'm not sure what the issue is.

Where do you have the game installed? It sounds like an issue with Vortex being able to write to the game folder. Hardlinks option should be there if the folder is writable.

Also depends on where the game is installed, and where the staging folder is. They both MUST be on the same physical drive.

I'm having the same issue but with Witcher 3. Confirmed staging folder and game folder are on the same drive. Tried re-installing vortex as well as removing appdata folders and re-doing all the steps to manage a game. Also tried installing Vortex on the drive alongside the game and staging folder. Tried re-installing the game and confirming Vortex can see it. Re-initialized the game and enabled Mods in the launcher.

Confirmed the Drive is NTFS in Disk Management. It's a NVME SSD. I've used Vortex in the past for this game as well as others such as Starfield and Cyberpunk2077 and have always seen that option.

Is there anything else I can try? I tried rolling back a version of Vortex as well but the option doesn't appear. Currently on latest 1.13.7.

Witcher 3 must always be on C:\ as it installs some mods to the Documents Folders

It's not for everyone and I doubt that the Vortex developers would support such a setup but I use a junction to link my "documents\the witcher 3" on d: to a folder on c:\
