Kaban4ik1337
Resently, after launching Vortex I have noticed, that it started downloading plugins for almost any game, supported by Vortex (Baldur's Gate 3, Wither, FO4 VR, FO3, FO New Vegas, No Man's Sky, 7DTD and etc.). I have managed to cancel some downloads and delete all these unwanted plugins. Why do I need all these extensions when I don't even have these games installed? But what worries me the most is that Vortex has installed extensions for 7DTD and NMS - the only two games (from the list of installed extensions) that I have on my computer. I wasn't going to control these two games using Vortex. The main problem started after I successfully deleted 7DTD extension and tried to delete No Man's Sky extension. Every time I tried to remove this extension, vortex reinstalled it after restarting the app. And after a few minutes, he began controlling No Man's Sky itself. I have tried to stop controlling, but Vortex shows the message where it said that the game files are corrupted and it is impossible to stop the control. I have launched and played NMS for some time and I have not found any signs of file corruption. How could I stop the Vortex from controlling No Man's Sky and delete an unwanted extension? My Vortex version is 1.13.7. Edited February 27 by Kaban4ik1337
Solution ChemBoy1 Posted February 27 Solution Share Posted February 27 These are bundled extensions included with Vortex. Pretend they're not there. Stop trying to delete them. They are checked for updates at every Vortex launch. They don't do anything unless you choose to manage the games with Vortex.
Kaban4ik1337
First of all, thanks about information about bundled extensions. Secondly, what do you mean by 13 hours ago, ChemBoy1 said: They don't do anything unless you choose to manage the games with Vortex. I already have one that started controlling a game (No Man's Sky) by itself and I stil can not find a way to delete it.
ChemBoy1
They cannot control games by themselves. You have to add the game in Vortex for the extension to do anything. There is no way to delete it. That's what I am telling you. Leave the bundled extensions alone.
Kaban4ik1337
I understood your reply, but the main problem is that I am looking for a way to stop extension from controlling No Man's Sky, without getting error messages like that. Right now I stil can not find a way to remove this extension and every time I see the same error.
showler
Basically, by messing around with it you've managed to confuse Vortex about it's current status. If No Man's Sky is current NOT LISTED AS A MANAGED GAME (when you choose the games tab it is in the lower "unmanaged" section, not the top "managed" section), then follow these steps: 1. STOP TRYING TO REMOVE THE EXTENSION. 2. NOTHING. There's nothing else to do. Vortex is not managing the game and will not do anything to the game unless you decide to manage it.
Kaban4ik1337
But No Man's Sky IS LISTED as a managed game, and I can not stop managing it and every time get the same error
Community Manager Pickysaurus Posted March 4 Community Manager Share Posted March 4 Try making it your active game and solve any problems that show up there. Your staging folder may be poorly configured or something
