minkshaman
Hey, So I have two different Stardew Valley playstyles, and the profiles help change the mods which is great. But sometimes I use the same mod with different config options. Can we have Vortex manage mod configuration based on profile as well?
Community Manager Pickysaurus Posted May 11 Community Manager Share Posted May 11 This is already possible if you add your config settings to a mod inside Vortex.
minkshaman
How? Are you saying I can somehow link the json file within vortex?
minkshaman
I already have Vortex managing the config for me, and I’ve already tested that it doesn’t allow for profile specific config changes.
ChemBoy1
You have to install different configs on each profile. If you use the same mod with the config file and enable it on both profiles, it's gonna use the same file on both profiles.
minkshaman
I’m still confused, how do I install different configs? Do you mean manually putting the JSON in the staging folder or something? I don’t get it. this should be something that Vortex can do, it’s already managing the config for consistency between updates, it should be able to have a unique config file “mod” for between profiles. showler
You can make folders "profile 1" "profile 2" "profile 3" etc. in your Vortex staging folder and put different JSON files in each one. Then install them as a mod in each profile in order to have Vortex switch between them.
minkshaman
That is… unintuitive. ok, it’s a decent workaround, but this should be integrated into Vortex.
minkshaman
Also, how does that work with Vortex managing the config? Surely the vortex config would override?
