The last poster wins

Give up what and to whom and why?????

A long long time ago it has been reported, there was a certain Moderator who blocked the Last Poster Wins "topic" and "took" the last poster title for himself.

That's where the legend ends ... and then restarted it or continued it after a while ... will it happen again, when we're sleeping ?

Hmmm nobody knows ... but honestly, I want that title ...

EA supporting LGBT marriage rights?

Not sure if they're trying to help or just want attention.

http://profile.ak.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ak-snc4/203493_218595638164996_1807554_q.jpg I still don't like them.

Whether it's a principled stance or they just see the writing on the wall and figure that by adding their name to it they'll increase revenue, either way, it's good. Very, very good actually...

It's a mark of the world we live in: the righteousness of a cause is usually irrelevant to it's success or failure, the number of weighty thinkers who agree with it are irrelevant to it's success or failure too, as are the percentage of the public in favour. BUT once businesses are behind an argument, even if that support is cynically motivated, you're on the way to winning. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif

I don't want to sound like I don't like this. (Wouldn't make much sense if I didn't like this now would it?) No, on the contrary it's absolutely great to see a big company support things like that.

They are taking a risk with this too and I'm just not sure where they got the motivation to pull such a move. They've received quite a beating because of ME3 and DA2 heaving gay romance options. I wonder what will happen now after this announcement.

Thanks EA, I guess. Now try to be a good game publisher too.

Don't worry, you didn't, just adding my 2c as to why I think it's a REALLY good thing. http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/thumbsup.gif

Motivation wise I really do think that IF it is a calculated decision it's about them trying to be seen as "at the forefront", by doing it while they are taking a beating for it it's harder to be accused of jumping on the bandwagon which would lose them the benefit of doing it.

I imagine they know their customer demographics too, are the majority of people giving them a beating actually people who buy their games, are the people who do by their games and give them a beating a majority of buyers, and will most of that group actually stop buying them now anyway? I suspect that all 3 answers are no, and I am 100% certain that these things will have been discussed even if the decision was taken largely on principle.

On the other point though, I suspect we'll see Satan ice-skating to work before we see EA become a good game publisher!
