naomis8329
nite, nite. going on kitty watch. don't think she'll last the night tho. Feel so bad as I don't know what's happened and why she's dying. Think she's caught a cold of some description. Not flu as the others are fine. Its hard listening to her breathing. Keeping her warm and feeding her by hand every two hours. We'll have to wait and see I guess. Anyways, nite nite xxx I would be careful because if it IS cat flu then it can be fatal, more with kittens. I'd make sure the others don't go anywhere near it - my partner used to work at an animal shelter and this kind of disease can wipe a lot out if they are in the same area. There is treatment but you would need to get in touch with a vet as soon as possible, also watch out for the others sneezing! We lost her during the night. Her brother is now being hand fed as their mum has abandoned them now. Just got the one left and we're feeding every two hours. He's very despondent so we don't know if he'll survive the loss of his sister :(

Ironman5000
Really sorry to hear that naomis, it's an awful condition for them and I would just suggest to try to keep an eye on the other one. I've had to do this a few times with kittens with cat flu but they all went, it's horrible to witness but there is very little that can be done for them when they are that young. Like I said though if you have other cats i'd keep them away so they don't catch it, they might be ok if they are fit and healthy but you really don't to take risks. naomis8329
I know its silly to get so upset about it but I have two adult cats and three that are 6 months old, then we had the litter of 3 and over a 4 week period we've lost 2 of them. The last is settled in a box with a little teddy of mine to snuggle up to, his mom knows where he is and is sitting beside the box, occasionally licking him but other than that, nothing. He's due another feed in an hour and if I can keep him going for another week we may just crack it and be able to wean him. However, he's listless and not trying to play like he was. The older kittens are keeping an eye on him but mainly play away from his box. They've been sneezing but that's coz they've hurtled into the house from outside where its cold lol. They look at me as if to say "excuse me", before hurtling off like a herd of elephants upstairs to play tag :D
