billyro
Does anyone here know how to make blood appear on custom weapons in Oblivion? I have searched everywhere but can't find a tutorial on it.

Try examining vanilla weapons since they do have blood on them after hitting someone, then adapt what you find for your weapon, that's basically how I learned to do stuff. The vanilla weapons have got these big red cylinders surrounding the weapon meshes, so I suspected they had something to do with it. I don't know how to make them apply to my weapon though. I never noticed these red cylinders myself but I only really use nifskope, blender freaks me out. Is it nifskope you see the cylinder?

Cylinders? I've only ever seen the green havok capsules, but never cylinders. Can you take a screenshot of those?
billyro
Whoops, I meant capsules, not cylinders. Ah, so those are for havok then... well it seems that I haven't got that working either. I tried dropping my sword, but it was stuck in mid-air, and for some reason I fell through the floor. Perhaps I need to link the capsules to the actual sword mesh and then it'll be havoked. I'll try that in a bit. And I'm still clueless about the blood. I automatically thought that the capsules would be for blood because they are red on mine, but it seems not. I believe the weapons in Skyrim had a dismemberment modifier or something (or was that armour?) but Oblivion's weapons don't have it. Anyway, here's a screenshot of the capsules and stuff on a steel longsword, Ironman. http://puu.sh/4ldpA.png Also, I think I may have stuffed up blood in general since I noticed the vanilla weapons aren't generating blood any more. Who knows, I might have actually got the blood working as it should, but I don't know about it because none of the blood works... EDIT: Fixed the havok issue. I imported the mesh into the steel longsword using Nifskope, then deleted the steel longsword stuff and replaced it with my own. That's fixed now, so I can focus on blood and blood alone...
