Would you be willing to walk under this tree, even if you knew that the megabats on it are herbivores?

Yes. I love bats. :D

Oh god imagine that huge f***ing thing flying into your head and getting tangled in your hair and its just flapping in your face but you're already too traumatized to do anything about it so you just lay down, cry and wait for either you or it to die and you secretly hope that you'll die first because you know that you'll never get over the trauma of that event.

Those are Australian Fruit Bats. I rescued one once, it had crashed and broken it's wing, and I retrieved it and brought it inside to hand over to the RSPCA. It didn't bite or scratch at me, and it was really soft and fluffy to hold. Whatever you think of Bats, Fruit Bats are really kind of cute and I like really like them. They eat rotten fruit and flowers, and are one of the main pollinators in northern Australia.

I wouldn't be willing to park the car beneath them... all that fruit they eat turns into sloppy droppings. :pinch:

We gets bats in our house nearly every night; they fly around in the hallway and nearly run into you (you can hear "vwoom vwoom vwoom vwoom" as they go past). Other times they'll just be hanging off a light or a fan that is turned off, and we have to "motivate" it to move. They find their own way out through the door eventually, though.
