buddah
Buddah do you know why all the thumbnail images in the "images" section of every mod I have looked at is blurry beyond belief until you open a full view for it? Also I usually get quite a few comments on my mods when I release a new version but the comment box has been dead lately. Might just be people being lazy though; I don't know. :DI really wouldn't know if they are blurry or not, I seldom visit the image share sections. Usually only when I have a report to deal with. Long story about why and there is no need to bore you with it. But I looked at them and they appear legible to me, though I forgot what they looked like already. There was a forum reset to a backup yesterday, due to a database corruption in the forum server. There is a link down the page with a full explanation. buddah
Not in the file site area (presently), this is not available, but feel free to use the forums. Have your member subscribe to the thread. The rule of thumb on the file sites is 24 hours and no file upload. Admin will delete the page. Buddah
EdisLeado
Posted a new mod -- but it seems that comments are disabled even though I didn't set it up to be that way... :/
buddah
If comments are disabled no one can enable them. The only fix is to reupload to a new page and delete the old one. The disable comments/ratings is a one time option on the first page, if you select to disable while you do your upload and other actions....it cannot be changed, Comments and ratings are enabled by default. Very rarely the forum server will not create a file thread and this disables comments/ratings as the site cannot post them. [usually when a resync of the servers is in progress]. If you uploded the file yesterday morning, the file thread may have been lost with the forum reset.
leapinglizard
The new compressed thumbnail images for the image section of a mods page is a big negative. As others have said the new thumbnails are really blurry and it will discourage people from trying the authors mod. Especially if the mod is visual enhancer or relies on the images to sell the mod. eg my mod is a lighting overhaul of megaton and it relies on the images to show what the mod does. Now that all the thumbnails look terrible.. why would people try the mod ? (and i cant rely on everyone opening up the thumbnails to see the high res images) I understand why this change was done (im assuming forum speed etc) but can we please go back to the old thumbnails ? please please PS i also do not like the dominos pizza advertisements on the nexus site. Its making me very hungry ! LOL i hit refresh and i got an ad about stomach fat..Nexus - making you fat and then giving you the guilt trip for it. :D Edited August 13, 2009 by leapinglizard
AncientSpaceAeon
Do you think there will be big (or small) problems again in the future ? (especially after the server moves)

Dark0ne
Magic 8 ball says "maybe". Image compression is being worked on, but a degree of compression needs to take place.
VerbalEarthworm
lol. i just got spammed by TESNexus Endorsement Reminders. after reading what was said below about thumbnail compression, i went and looked again at recent mods to see what all the fuss was about, i couldn't see much difference in thumbnail quality myself, and i never take a thumbnail in as an image, it's more of an Image Button for me. anyway, failing to see any difference on FO3Nexus thumbnails, i went "next door" to TESNexus because i remember that you implement changes there first. then, every single time i changed page, i received the Endorsment Reminder Prompt. the first time it happened, i just submitted my usual "three days" timing and clicked Submit. then it happened again, every single time i changed the page. telling it to never show it's face again didn't work either. not such a big deal for me, because i don't make use of TESNexus, but i am just letting you know.
