LHammonds
Give FRAPS or Taksi a try. They will get around any AA or NVidia issue you might have.
simonp92
What exsactly is Anti-Aliasing (or AA) ??and how do i turn it off, because when i have taken a screenshot, the image dosent show up anywhere..
Netwit2008
Just wanted to thank those that shared the FRAPS information. I'm so excited that I tried it and it worked perfectly the first time. I didn't do anything but change the hotkey since I don't have F10 on my keyboard. I'm running Vista 64 bit, with an Nvidia graphics card. I even got a couple of images I'm going to share once I find the instructions on how to do that in the user image section. Hopefully posting them will prove just as easy, they would only save to .bmp format. Thanks again!
SmurfsTurf
I have problems, I have no printscreen key, how could I assign printscreen to some other key of lesser use, say f11 wich I really hate, can it be done?
werewolfrunner
Unlock Print Screen (PRTSCN) button There is a setting in the INI file:bAllowScreenShot=0change to:bAllowScreenShot=1 Also, two related items for the screenshots:iScreenShotIndex=0SScreenShotBaseName=Oblivion There are two INIs, one in the game folder called "Oblivion_default.ini", this is the one it uses to generate the REAL one....My Documents\My Games\Oblivion\Oblivion.ini Edit the first one if you want to default to having screenshots on by default for all users. The settings it uses at runtime are the ones from My Documents folder. After you mod the INI file, you can press PRTSCN button and Oblivion will write a BMP file to your game folder. tHIS DOSE NOT WORK FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE
LHammonds
tHIS DOSE NOT WORK FOR ALOT OF PEOPLEWhich is why it was expanded upon in this article to also check for Anti-Aliasing being enabled inside of Oblivion which will cause screenshots using Oblivion's internal system to not work. On Vista, you would need to have installed Oblivion to someplace other than the default C:\Program Files folder due to increased UAC security to keep files from being added to programs. I would not recommend disabling UAC though. How To Take Screenshots Using Oblivion LHammonds
Steven917
Can't you just press Print Screen, go to paint, Ctrl + V, and tada, you're done... I do this so that I can save my files as a .PNG (higher quality.) instead.
LHammonds
Can't you just press Print Screen, go to paint, Ctrl + V, and tada, you're done... I do this so that I can save my files as a .PNG (higher quality.) instead. You cannot do that in DirectX games. I guess you haven't tried that while in a DirectX game. Besides, even if it were possible to work, you would not be able to take multiple screenshots at once. You might want to take a look at my WindowCapture utility I've uploaded to TESNexus. It does what you do manually for you automatically (but it will not work inside DirectX games). Set the slider to the largest setting and it will be just as good as a PNG. Steven917
Oh. I thought you could. Anyway, thanks for clearing that. Q:If the file is saved as a .BMP (trashy default paint type) , then if you were to convert it to .PNG, it would still be low quality, right? (I tried that once, the results were a bit improved trashy image. just wanna know if someone else has it in high quality.)
