One of the things that's probably been taking so long is figuring out how to end such an awesome game cleanly. Bioshock managed it, and closed the game off spectacularly, and that's why it's hailed as such an awesome game. If Valve just made some generic end-boss, had you kill it, then rolled the credits, it'd just ruin the feel of the whole series. Have to get it to end correctly.

Some awesome game enders:

1. The Nihilanth (HL1)

2. The Primarch (DOW2)

3. Ragnaros (WoW, no, the expansions don't count.)

4. The Witch King (BFME2:RotWK)

Some awesome games with terrible endings, and thus got worse receptions:

1. Borderlands

2. Metroid (The original)

3. Batman: Arkham Asylum

4. Modern Warfare (It was missing the other half of the campaign)

Well, this is kinda big news. Valve have never made a game for the PS3, and no one suspected they would because Gabe Newell has made quite a few remarks against it. He did also say that Valve's E3 suprise would not be HL3.

One thing that I dont understand why people hate is steam. Steam in my opinion is awesome. Much easier and in my opinion even more reliable the having a disk copy.

Valve are pretty much.... awesome. I don't care if I have to wait a year or two or three or 10 to get their new game either it is HL3 or Portal 2. I will be waiting for it.
