The_Reaper
"You have won an $1600 Travel Shopping Spree ™Your confirmation number is *****Call within the next 4 minutes and you will also receive an addedbonus of a 4 Day/3 Night Bahamas Cruise Vacation!"What the hell? "There is no catch!Resorts and hotels are operating at only a 50-60% occupancy at the moment. They are desperate for travelers. They would rather have someone stay almost free than not stay at all. In other words, the resorts are sponsoring your $1600 Travel Shopping Spree!"What?

eldritch
Welcome to the Brave New World. Years ago there was a Sci-Fi story about people being inundated with holographic advertisements every waking minute. It seems to be an accurate prediction. I recently read a similar story concerning spamming on cell phones and the Net, anything driven by chips. I'm glad I'm old and won't live to see the logical culmination of this trend; however, given the exponential growth rate of technology (particularly that which has an immediate perceived pay-off) I'll probably see more of it than I want to. eldritch
Get RegCleaner and/or run MsConfig. You can kill a lot of that crud (a suitable euphisism for c**p) with those two programs.
