The Matrix...

I thought it was perfectly fine - I preferred the first, but there aren't many films where I can say that (except Terminator - T2 was so much better than The Terminator).

Now, after seeing Equilibrium I can safely say, Equilibrium beats M:R hands down. It offers the right blend of George "1984" Orwell style philosophy with amazing fighting scenes - none of which rip off the Matrix in any way, none of which contain bullet time and all of which are original and extremely clever.

If you haven't seen Equilibrium, I recommend it to you.

I don't normally read movie reviews - I'm not really that interested what some reviewer thinks about a movie, but prefer to make up my own mind. Like, Easy Rider is always praised for being such a great movie....yeuch. It was embarrassingly bad.

However, I do read Maddox's site because I find it very funny.

And I think the bit about the wooden plank with the mean face is spot on

No need to deny it people..you cant go see the movie a million times then say oh yeah it stinked JUST TO FIT IN!........sorry about that just had to defend what i loved. btw keanu is awesome in the fight scenes and acting! the only thing that could use improving is the soundtrack but it wasnt that bad at all

Please tell me you're joking...

1) The fight scenes were BORING! Yes, as impossible it would seem, they actually managed to make boring fights. They're extremely repetitive, and go on far far too long than necessary. Especially when there is no result from it! I mean, endlessly fighting clones, just to fly away? Seriously, it seems more like an effects test than a real scene.

2) I did not go see it a million times. I saw it exactly once, and decided that it was an average movie at best. My decision has nothing to do with the fact that it is a sequel, if it had been a completely new movie I'd be saying the exact same thing. And it definitely doesn't have anything to do with "fitting in."

3) Just admit it, the movie was a massively over-hyped piece of garbage. Just because it has "matrix" in the title does not make it good!
