Gold vs Septim

I don't see the point of this thread....Many mods have done that exact same thing but Gold in the Cyrodillic Empire ever since Tiber Septim became Emperor has been known as Septim, it in a way defines a Gold Coin from any other kinds of Gold Coins there are (Not sure but I believe in Morrowind they called their Currency "Drakes"or maybe that is just how they called it) Kind of like how England has pounds and America and Australia have Dollars.

I prefer "septims" myself, though I often end up just calling them "coins" or even "credits" every now and then.

Calling it "gold" though, to me, is like calling a $5 bill "five monies". In-universe it seems to be more akin to saying "five bucks", but it still seems incredibly off to me.

For lore purposes Septim has been the standard currency in modern Skyrim for over 600 years, although there is WAY to much of it lying around.

I never played any other elder-scrolls game and know in the Oblivion they called them septims because in the walk-through I watched the kings name was something septum

I actually want to try out oblivion, anybody know a good set of graphic mods to make it look somewhat like skyrim, and also play like it. I just don't get the leveling system! Skyrim's is so easy (And SkyRe)

Also no dual wielding! I love spell-blade! This is going off-topic but I hope there's a mod for that.

I'm not really an RP dude but Septim did add to my game experience a bit. Wonder what mod it could've been :o

I find replacing the name of any currency makes it an actual "item," meaning you have to choose how much you want to pick up. Due to some glitches within NMM, I can't get the vanilla gold coin names back, so I'm stuck with the glitch.

I really don't mind the name, though, so I tend to stick with "gold coins" over "septims." I rarely look down in the bottom-right corner anyway.

I don't use NMM and never came across that; maybe because of SkyUI?

Perhaps. I found deleting the offending mod, overwriting it with another mod that does the same thing, or even going into the game's files to look for a hidden .esp did nothing.

I would assume it's because it's adding an item that simply deletes itself and adds to your current gold count, making skyUI and everything else assume that it's a regular item.

EDIT: And yes, I use NMM. When I first started modding, I used it, but I've made so many unrecognized edits to my mods that if I were to try a clean install everything would explode. If I start to transition over to Mod Organizer or Wrye Bash I'd likely have to go through some work.

I have over 100 mods, I don't have mods that I don't want -- maybe a compatibility patch that works for plugins I don't have caused it -- but I don't mind it.

Merchants still show correct values with their gold/septims and mine.

On a sidenote: is there a mod that makes skyrim have the happy color scheme of oblivions? It looks so pretty on youtube! All happy and such.
