joeshmoe2
Ok I am looking to get into a bit of modding. As I understand it Creation kit is used to modify the game(make mods) and TES5Edit is used to clean your game/mod files so they dont become corrupted, ensure compatability and such but can't acually modify the game. Is this correct? Thanks.

lofgren
Not quite. TES5Edit can actually do most of what the CK can, but without the accessoble user interface. Since TES5Edit gives you access to more raw data, it provides a greater level of flexibility in many regards. I recommend learning your craft in the CK, and then you will know whether you need to turn to TES5Edit for specific purposes, or if you prefer the interface.
