CuteGirlGamer
So i am getting a Alienware 17 laptop in the next few days. And i have been looking around the internet for mods from nexus and came across about 80ish mods. Some light weight and alot of heavy ones. I can not say the specs of my laptop because it was a Christmas gift. And given that, lets say it has the default specs of what the Alienware 17 laptops come with from dell. What kind of FPS am i looking at? 60+ or 35ish? or am i looking at like 20 -And what would i be at if i started to record with camtasia if i decided too while running these mods. These are all the mods im planning on downloading. Links. But i dont expect anyone to look at them all lol. Just a rought estmiate of what FPS ill be looking at if i use these mods and then what FPS ill be at if i recored. Of course i can just wait till i get my laptop to see but im just really curious :) Default Alienware 17 Specs 17.3-inch display, (1920x1080 resolution, TN panel, anti-glare surface) Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Intel Core i7-4800MQ quad-core processor (6MB cache, up to 3.4GHz Turbo Boost) Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M graphics card w/ 4GB GDDR5 16GB DDR3-1600 RAM (4x 4GB; 32GB max. supported - spyrofreak911
According to my one friend an i7 Alienware can do everything or anything with i7, yet he plays Minecraft on it far too often. If I were you I would play extremely high quality games on it like Black Desert Online (Yes I am a Chinese Open Beta player) and other stuff and jack up my Skyrim so much with hd textures. Shoot for the stars, cause some people don't have 1,800-2,000 to spend on a laptop. I have a Pavilion but at high quality level 5 with fxaa 4 Blade and Soul it gets about...... 5-6 fps but with very little freeze. This Pavilion was a Christmas gift cause Mom didn't have the budget for an Asus i7 or any of the Lenovos I asked for, and she was starting to get upset. spyrofreak911
Trust me, that thing will be able to do what you want and a little more, unless its a fault in Skyrim in general. Edited January 10, 2015 by spyrofreak911
Boombro
This load order is not that heavy I can run it in my laptop and it has way less Power then yours by a mile. You may even be able to coat everything in 2k textures or a heavy ENB and still get a great fps rate. Mods you may want to take a loot at: -Follower mod instead of the outdated ufo http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/60763/? -TR instead Skyrim HD http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/46925/? if you want more color with less impact on fps. The guy also has a great, light enb and many other retextures that amazing. -skyrim unbound (in steam workshop.) insted of LAL and Immediate Dragons. -PerMa instead of Skyre, smoother, more patches, better with other mods and more fun! -Death Alternative - Captured, is there a better back story than being a runaway falmer slave? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/54867/? -Skyrim FAR, far agronian roots. It seems you are trying to make everyone look nice, why not our brothers lizards too? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/42043/? -Living takes time, pass time by reading books! -A matter of time. -More hud. -Enhanced Lights and FX. -And if you are looking for a house, an epic one mind you, try this bad boy http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52248/? it a Gallery like no other in the this site. You work for a galley, you have to fill it up with all artifacts you can find. It has quests, a house for you (not right away.) and displays for everything rare. And that not all. And don't forget to look up skyrim stability guide. Edited January 10, 2015 by Boombro
CuteGirlGamer
Thanks a lot guys, i really thank you for commenting and taking a look at what i should be playing at. I really cant wait for this laptop to come in. I share all of who has a lower end Desktop or laptop. I have never once had one. All the machines i had in the past were either standard dell or my new HP pallvion i3 laptop that i have had now for 3 or 4 years. Not once have i been able to go past much of 10 FPS any really any game. But what is funny is that i am so use to it that it really does not phase me. I mean i use to be a IN game raid leader with Frame rates of 10-12, sometimes 4-5 and still pulled out a win. I am very glad to hear that this PC is going to be well worth the price. and possibly be seeing myself at 30+ or more FPS Also Thank you for all the mod Suggestions!!! saurusmaximus
That rig will run Skyrim just fine (and it makes me insanely jealous). As mentioned above, read the guides on proper modding practices before you go nuts installing all those mods, you'll be happier for it. One thing of note, on your wishlist you listed two marriage mods:Simple Marriage, and Marriage Mod-to have and to hold. Those two mods essentially do the same thing, modify the marriage system in Skyrim, and I fear if you install them both, you will be unhappy. Chose one or the other. tejano2828
You are going to have a good CPU the only thing that will limit the power of your Alienware is the memory size of your VRAM which is 2gb right or 4b? obviously the more Vram the more mods especially texture mods you can run. I was going to get the Alienware but I got the Asus G laptop . I recommend getting an SSD for it you won't regret it
radscorpion
Skyrim is a 32-bit program meaning that it has a mod limit of 3.1 gb memory limit, meaning that if you go beyond that (You can get a skyrim ram monitor) you'll crash, no matter what computer you've got. As long as everyone has at least 4. gb of available ram you could run up to 200 mods or something like that as long as they don't go beyond 3.1 gb in one frame. The most important thing is that you turn of background programs on your computer that might interfere with Skyrim, SKSE or NMM. But the most important thing is that your load order is set correctly, you can use LOOt and TES5Edit for that. LOOT: A tool used to set the correct load order and giving warnings, such as displaying if mods need cleaning, patches, updates etc. TES5Edit: A tool used to clean mods, solve conflicts, make patches etc. Advanced program, be careful! My computer is as old as the first Iphone released: Specs:Windows 7 UltimateIntel Dual core 2 E7400 2.80 Ghz.4,00 Gb RAM.32-bit system. AMD Radeon HD 6670 And I can run about 180 mods, a lot of light mods and a few heavy ones like Falskaar and Wyrmstooth. I use no texture or visual mods because it's what uses most RAM. Thats all true but you also need a card capable of processing and pushing all the textures and stuff. The 6670 is EXTREMELY weak. I used to have one :) going from the 6670 to a gtx 660 was literally night and day......then going from the 660 to my current 970 was night and day again.... basically what im saying is while what you said is true....hardware still matters...A LOT.
