brandonb1218
Maybe it's just me, but any time I go exploring, I get bum rushed by (way too many) creatures and I inevitably die. There seems to be more mob spawns, and they're way harder. Too hard for a level 5 character. I think it also has something to do with the inconsistencies with weapons. Something like a rifle, (which does more damage than the pistol I currently have) should be able to take down a stupid giant fly! But it doesn't, so I just barely get by with my pistol, and I use up most of the ammo I have on just a couple of enemies. I've played Fallout 3 extensively and never had any problems like this, so what gives? By the way, because of this, I feel like the game is more linear than it should be. I can't go do whatever I want early on like I could in Fallout 3. All I can really do is follow the main story line and walk on the roads the entire time. I'd say I spend about 80% of my time walking from point A to point B on a road and the other 20% actually playing the game. Maybe I'm just an idiot? I really hope this isn't another flop from Obsidian. I still don't forgive them for that atrocity called KoTOR 2.
dark47
II haven't played NV yet, but those dam bloatflys in FO3 aren't too nice. I hate those buggers. Even later in the game, they give me a hard time. (More a nuisance than anything)

scrivener07
I felt the same way at first and started to worry. But im level 8 now and I got better gear and can hold my own now. Partly because I changed my play style to be more tactical observing enemies from a distance where possible and using cover and higher ground where possible. I love the extra challenge and Im definitely seeing some FWE inspired improvements, along with a ton of other mods ie RHironsights, Primary Needs, CRAFT, CALIBER... etc Dont hate on large mob spawns! idk all I can do is read your opinion, respond with mine and tell you to wait a few weeks for mods to roll out to fix things you dont like(or mod yourself?). Best of luck to you in the waste
Syco21
I like having more enemies to kill. But I don't like getting rushed every five seconds. I haven't played enough to give an opinion. If you can stay on the roads and stay safe from enemy attacks, then that sounds like an interesting and somewhat neat gimmick. At the sametime, it sounds like it can get annoying quickly. I'd like to see more patrols, that'd be pretty kickass honestly.

soot00
I am only level 4 and feel the opposite effect. Like to see a bit more spawns. Am sure Matt's Mutant Mart mod will eventually resolve this. Lastly find yourself a good weapon. I found a weapon called the "Incinerator" and it blows away all the early weapons. Basically the weapon is a form of Flamer which is a Damage over time effect. No longer do I need to trade shots on tough opponents. Shoot and run like a little girl or hide behind buildings as the enemies health starts dropping as his skin slowly burns, haha. Basically have upped my survival rate when out exploring. btw am playing on hardcore mode.
csgators
One thing I noticed is that the bloatflys don't attack me unless I attack them, I've just been walking around them. Several times I've killed things that were fighting Bboatflys and the flys left me alone.
Madae
I'm running into the opposite problem - I'm finding the game extremely easy. There was only one situation I ran into that was difficult beyond comprehension, and that was just north of Goodspring where I ran into some giant flies/bees. Those things just wouldn't die and took no damage from my crappy weapons. So, I went south of Goodspring. Everything in that direction is a joke and I'm swimming in caps/weapons/armor and anything else that has no weight and can sub for money (since all the merchants literally have no caps or no weight items left).
