Nexus should add a preference that will allow a user to share any of his/her downloads, and/or there personal rating of them so other users may look and possibly find some mods they have in common, or may like.

there are some upsides to this

Greater way to endorse a download

Better way to track what people are into downloading

Easier for others to find certain downloads there peers maybe using for certain effects or textures

Owner of the mod can see who rates it up

There are some downsides to this

People can see what you download (bad if you download something embarrasing)

Owner of the mod can see who rates it down

Big downside; site performance. The download history table has about 80 million rows and counting on TESNexus alone. The time it takes to search this table is rather large (ask anyone with a large download history who has Premium Membership).

As the biggest abuser of the site, this would bring it the site to it's knees. The last time I let it load it literally took minutes to complete.

It did not load for me(the download history page) with a 2mb internet connection and over 2.500 files downloaded.

With a 20mb internet connection it takes a couple of seconds to load 10 to 20.

I also think it depends on what PC you have. Both PCs I use are rather slow, at least one of them.

I like the "My Favourite Files" idea mentioned by Avetre.

Actually, I would prefer a "Currently used mods" list, something like GameSpot's 'Now playing' list.

That's more informative for me than a simple download list. From my own experience, I seldom use all the mods that I download from nexus, and only a selected few have a permanent spot in my load order.

However, as my idea would require that either Robin create something like the Curse client (which I never used due to my privacy related paranoia and due my quitting Word of Warcraft as soon as the end-game raid-grind began) or that the users voluntarily sumbit/upload their active mod lists manually or by exporting their load order from FOMM, I think my idea is stillborn.
