Information Regarding Mods That Can Be Found Both On Nexus and As Paid Content on Steam Workshop.

That is actually a really informative post haha. I agree with you, the whole "paid" mods thing is a mess. I am trying to keep discussion about the matter out of this thread though (for the sake of this thread being for people to find unbiased information or to supply it etc.,). You should definitely post what you put here as your own topic though, as it's really useful information and raises good questions/points.

This thread is a joke and the community response that is being supported by this site is even a bigger joke. This is a shaming thread and it doesn't matter how well you sugarcoat it. Not a single modder owes anything to anyone on this site and what they choose to do with their material is their business. What I choose to do with my work OWES NO EXPLANATION. Make sense of that OP.

If somebody is using this site to promote a paid mod on Steam Workshop that isn't even available here (or only as a crippled version), I think it's very relevant.

There are lots of other issues too that can't be so easily dismissed.

A paid mod doesn't need this site to promote it. If they feel they do, they are amateurs and that doesn't justify this thread in the slightest. There is no issue what so ever that requires this thread to exist. This thread is purely entertainment for the drama hungry.

As of 2.9 I received help creating the Dragonwood manor questline and was donated a dungeon.

Without them your mods wouldn't exist as they are.

And this isn't counting the guides you have probably used considering you don't seem like an experienced modder.

Then the tools you might have used. NMM, Wryebash, MO, TES5Edit maybe?

Then used the nexus to host your mods for free and more conveniently than any other mod websites or file host

Then some community members have made youtube videos promoting your mods

Even the ENB for your screenshot so they don't look like crap is from this community which you obviously owe nothing to.

Oh and this same joke of a community even actually downloaded your mod, giving you the little bit of credibility you have when you tell people you're a modder.

Without the community we're no one.

Make sense of that.

This is not a shaming thread. Any shame you feel is your own. This thread exists to pre-empt the countless "WHERE DID THIS MOD GO?!" threads that would pop up without this information being readily accessible.

I think Caithe covered anything else I may have had to say more succinctly than I could have hoped to.

Some of us only set our mods to hidden because we are afraid of theft for profit, as these are very troubling times.

When the news first broke, I wasnt sure what else to do.

I've felt a little better with the check box addition on permissions, but I've been getting to new heights in paranoia the last few days. I can't imagine the stress that bigger modders are going through right now. What a mess!

I don't owe anybody anything. Using resources works both ways. Majority of what I learned was from hardcore trail and error. The resources used were created for mod authors which I had credited. The added clutter put into my mods do not make up the content in the slightest. Youtube advertisers and this site are making money off my work so I don't know what thanks I owe them.

So careful when you say I owe "a lot". I made my mods for me which I had shared with this community. The handful people who contributed to my work does not make up a community. I don't even care to know what you call experienced either.

This is what I get for ultimately uses resources in my work. So clowns like the guy above can say I owe something to someone when investing 1500+ hours in the creation kit. Gtfo.
